My animosity towards Floyd Jr.

Truthfully, in terms of age, he's already gonna be past his prime...... with only one or two fights a year, he's probably only got like 3 competitive fights left in him. He's nearing the end already, the great fights should have already been made. Oscar did em in his 20's.Comment

i agree with part of this...Ok, I may be called a Floyd basher by some, that's a given, but on the real, let me lay it down like this. There is no doubt that Floyd will go down as one of the great ones, ok. But, the dislike I got for him, and I'm sure many will agree with me, is that when he does leave this game, he'll be leaving not having done everything in the sport that he could have done. There could have been so many good fight for him at Welter, however he's not taking any chances. Oscar's fought em all, that's why he's a household name and the richest in the sport. People will forever remember his name; not likely for Floyd. People will always remember actions and results; people will eventually forget mythical P4P ratings.
i think he needs to change his mind real quick about money or legacy...
He's definately raking in the big bucks but he's not going to leave a legacy that he's capable of.
Floyd has not fought; quintana, mosley, cotto, margarito, williams, etc.
thats ALL at welterweight and there are a few more...
even though some arent really names (quintana, williams, margarito) he should still fight them and beat them because when he retires he would be remembered as the guy who fought all/nearly all of the top 10 fighters of his division...
instead he will be remembered for fighting some notable opponents early in his career but faded out down the stretch and didnt really take the fights he could have/should have to go down one of the very best of all time...
if floyd were taking a more serious approach he could be a top 20 p4p fighter of all time...maybe even better...but he's not fighting who he needs to fight to earn it.Comment

Mayweather still has time to truly cement himself. Anybody that hates on him have better keep that to his antics OUTSIDE of the ring, because inside of it, he is a true master craftsmen.
He is already a hall of famer. But he NEEDS to fight the winner of the Cotto vs Margarito bout. No rematch with Hatton. Please, for the love of god, no. Rematch DLH, win, then fight the victor of that bout.Comment

When all is said and done I believe he will at least fight Cotto, although fighting two-three more fights against legitimate contenders would be ideal. Although it won't happen I wish he would just run the gauntlet, take three fights over the next 12 months and then retire without any unfinished business. One can't complain too much should he choose to retire after dealing with Cotto though.Comment

for floyd it is simple. beat any of the three following three fighters; cotto @ 147, winky @ 154, forrest @ 154, mosley @ 147, spinks @ 154 and he will retire an all time great.
realistically, i do not think he will fight ANY of them....Comment
