I want Malignaggi to KO Ricky...

keep dreaming, that is like a 7 year old trying to knockout a 30 year old. malignaggi might have faster hands, and better defense and movement, and a decent jab when he throws it, but as for power, he's in the negative compared to every other fighter in and around his weight class.

there are bantam weight fighters with more fire power than malignaggi..........

plus i will guarantee that malignaggi breaks his hand again in his fight with hatton, this time it's going to happen in the second or thrid round. being able to hit hatton clean is only going to be a detriment to malignaggi regarding his brittle hands. i am 100% positive that malignaggi WILL break his hand in their fight.

If Malignaggi can land on Hatton's temple, which he can with his speed and skills, with a nice sharp, snappy shot, he could scatter Ricky's brain JUST enough to convince a ref that Ricky is unfit to continue.

but only because if he doesn't Hatton will continue to fight on, win or lose, and end up getting hit too much by someone with the power to cause significant lasting damage.

I don't like to see this happen to any fighter, but Ricky is one of the nice guys of the sport, and has a fantastic television career ahead of him after boxing due to his wit and very likeable personality.

It would be a real shame for a man of Ricky's calibre to join the "got hurt cos I fought too long" club.

Hopefully being KO'd again by Paulie's pink powder puffs will show Ricky that his punch resistance has gone, and all the weight gaining and losing has taken a dramatic effect on his body, meaning he is no longer cut out for the fight game.

Im not going to say its 100% impossible...buts its HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY improbable.

after all the injuries to paulie's right hand over the years i dont think he (even after getting it worked on by this hand doctor) will give him the confidence to use it at full power...i think he'll use both hands in the fight but wont really try to sell out on the right hand at all...

At absolute BEST (if he has a career fight) he could earn a flash knockdown but not solely on power it will have to be in combination with his speed like he did to put down ndou and wobble cotto in their fight.

He wont put ricky down for a 10 count...or even multiple times...

only other thing that could happen is he goes in there and REALLY outclasses hatton making the ref decide its enough (not from punishment/being hurt but by being 100% dominated) and this is highly unlikely as well...

best that happens is a flash knockdown from speed... like he did here:

at 1:43 is where he wobbled cotto...i believe it was strictly from his speed...

and around 2:15 is the flash knockdown of ndou...i believe this was also speed.



So i dont think he has a fair chance to HURT hatton but he can beat him with speed...especially seeing as how hatton started to get real sluggish late in the lazcano fight...and starting using VERY wide punches...paulie could capitalize...

but i dont think ANY knockdown or ANY sort AT ALL is going to happen...i think the best that can happen is paulie can steal all the later rounds down the stretch if hatton fades as he did...

and i think a split decision is going to be the result (in favor of paulie) but dont count on any knockdowns at all...seriously...its not impossible...but improbable...by a FEW miles.

Hatton is a grown man who still has some fight left, everyone is quick to say a fighter is shot after one fight... Im expecting hatton to come in and murder malignaggi.

For a start, I LOVE Hatton, to the point where I wan't him to retire so he doesn't get hurt.

He will continue to fight on, however, win or lose.

The yo yo weight thing is finally starting to catch up with him and his punch resistance is all but gone.

All it takes is anybody with even halfway decent power and Hatton could get seriously hurt or even killed.

The only scenario I see where Hatton jacks it in is if he gets KO'd by Paulie. To get KO'd by somebody such as Malignaggi is the wake up call that will tell any boxer it's time to pack it in.

Obviously I would rather see Hatton absolutely destroy and humiliate Paulie, then retire, but sadly that is never going to happen.
