Smarter Fighter...Floyd vs. Cotto

I think they are both the smartest fighters in the game today and this will be settled if they ever meet in the ring. Since I'm a Cotto fan I have to give my vote to Cotto, but I really do think they are equally smart as of now.

Devuis, I personally call him Carlton but Tyler Perry suits that corny mother****er too. Anyway to be completely honest yeah Floyd has great ring smarts but he has never had to climb a mountain for a win. He's always been able to outsmart people in the ring but can he adapt to adversity? Cotto has proved time and time again when hurt or stunned that he can rework what he is doing and find another way around to ****ing somebody up. I don't think Floyds ring smarts have really been put to the test as has hasn't faced a challenge that has put him in a situation where he was uncomfortable or not used to. Floyds fights are high paying sparring matches for the most part as he uses his speed to box his way to victory. I say Cotto due to his wars.

Cotto's smart in the ring but not as smart as Floyd. I remember Manny Stewart during the Zab fight in the first round saying Cotto was open for an uppercut and bam it happened, not sure an extremely smart fighter would get buzzed as much as Cotto does, he gets caught too frequently with hard shots.

Ring smarts isn't about getting hit.. it's about adjusting your style to beat your opponents, it's about finding openings and knowing how to exploit them, about finding a will to win and knowing what your opponent will do next and have them timed. Mayweather got a split decision against DLH.. did he adjust to the jab? No, everytime DLH was pumping that **** he was getting work done. That fight hung on one point for gods sake..
