Whats the real reason Floyd fought Baldomir?

Originally posted by deevel79 View PostI have heard from countless Floyd fans that the reason Floyd fought Baldomir instead of Margarito, was because Baldomir was the Undisputed/Linear WW Champ. Me personally, i doubt that was the "real" reason. This is why:
When Arum made Floyd the $8mil offer to fight Margarito, Floyd had yet to secure an opponent for his Nov 4th ppv date. He then went desperately scrambling for an opponent, when all along, Margarito was the only one willing to step in the ring with him. Not to mention, Margo was the #1 ranked WW at the time. Floyd went looking for fights with Shane (even though Shane had already stated that he will be taking the rest of the year off). He tried to get Oscar in the ring, but Oscar was in retirement mode at the time. He even went as low as to try to secure a fight with Cory Spinks! (Thank god that idea got shut down). Floyd ONLY choices were Margarito, or Baldomir (given Baldo beat Gatti). Floyd crossed his fingers, and prayed to the gods in hope of a Baldomir win. So my question is, if all along he had the option of fighting the #1 ranked WW for a career high payday, why wait, gamble, and risk losing out, in hopes that Baldomir beats Gatti? What would Floyd have done if Gatti won? There is no way on earth Gatti's people or HBO would've let that happen again, so what would Floyd have done? An even better question is, If Floyd's intentions were to go after Baldomir's titles/belts, why was Baldomir Floyd's last choice??? If you're after the WW champ, why do u go looking for fights with guys like Spinks and Shane? Floydboyz will argue that Floyd chose Baldomir over Margarito because Baldomir had the titles. Why wasnt Baldomir Floyd's first option then?????
thats a pretty solid argument...

Then he fought Bladomir because he wanted the WBC and Baldi had beaten Judah.
I've heard Mayweather talk about getting the "most important belt" in 5 weight classes, the WBC. He was supposed to get it from Judah and when that got ****ed up he fought the man who did have the trinket.

1st he want Zab but when Zab lost but he still want to fight him so he took it then he want to move up and fight spinks cause mosely was done for the year when that did not workout and he did not want to deal with Bob anymore he went for Baldomir.

The point im trying to make is, Floyboys will tell u that Baldomir was the most appealing option for Floyd, due to him beating Judah and capturing the WW lineal Championship title. When in reality, Floyd had no interest in fighting Baldomir yet. His November ppv date was closing in fast, and the only person willing to scrap with him was Margarito. Floyd made 101 excuses for why he wont fight him. One of the excuses was "nobody even knows who he is" As if Baldomir was a household name that everyone knew!...LOL. Floyd was desperately scrambling for another opponent, and asked Spinks and Mosley. No luck. It was then down to Baldomir or Margarito. There was an $8mil offer on the table for Floyd, and he declined. Floyd saw Baldomir as an easy fight where he can obtain the titles/belts with very little risk, and he went for it. So for the last time, my question is, if Baldomir was the most appealing option for Floyd, why did he wait till all of other option were out the window before he considered fighting him? I'll tell u why, he was scared to death of Margarito. That's why. He hid behind the fact that Baldomir was the so-called "best WW in the world" LOL.

He fought Baldomir because He was the number one guy there after Mayweather beat Judah, Margarito was a bit of an unknown at that point. Judah didnt look Margarito way when he was undisputed, Mosley didnt look Margarito way when he cameback down 147 so why should PBF when he can expand his options.
You have to remember that Brian Kinney critise Mayweather on his show for not fighting Baldomir after he beat Judah, But it would have been funny though if Gatti had beaten Baldomir.

Look, I love Floyd but it's as clear as he day he chose Baldomir because his only other option was Margarito at 147. I mean, seriously. He ignored Baldomir when he beat Zab and fought Zab instead. All of a sudden Baldomir is worth it after he beats a used-up Gatti? Come on.

I think it was came to two options Baldomir or Margarito and i think he like the sound of being called the undisputed 147 champion with 8million to go with it rather than the WBO champion with 8 million to go with it.

Actually no Floydboyz will tell you any of this. There are like three guys that might talk about it.
The rest of it is YOU SPAMMING this board along with commnmang and Viva Mexico/Ferocity repeating THIS STUFF over and over and over again.
So basically, no one says it, you make about a million threads claiming that EVERYONE is saying it, but somehow all I see is your CONSTANT SPAM on the subject. Your SPAM far outweighs their SPAM.
