I give Jones a much better chance at beating Joe. Jones against Kessler would be a terrible styles matchup and i can see Kessler getting to him at some point during the fight.
Kessler vs. Roy Jones Jr. after Sartison?

Do you have a link to this? I didn't see it.
So we will never hear it, but you wouldn't be surprised if we did? That makes sense. How exactly do you know if it's a lie or not?Comment

Check the last two Hopkins interviews on B-Talk. He mentions it A LOT.
As for the second part, I am not privy to negotiations. But I am aware that Jones will take a 40% split for this bout. However, he'd like a rematch clause if it's to take place in the UK. I've heard nothing since so I'm surprised negotiations have stalled.
But Hopkins said in his interview that this is what would happen. He said Roy would wait a whole summer and wonder why the deal hadn't been signed.Comment

All perfectly possible, so I can't say you're wrong, but I can't say that I make the opinions of Bernard Hopkins a very authoritative source.Check the last two Hopkins interviews on B-Talk. He mentions it A LOT.

Hopkins mentioned a lot of the negotiations himself with Warren. Needless to say, he was stunned.
But a lot of it is common sense too if you think about it. Jones is a dangerous unknown. He may be shot but...what if he isn't? How bad would it be to lose to a shot fighter? What makes Jones appealing is that he offers more money than Pavlik or any other fighter. So you have to wonder why Joe C. wouldn't take it - there's no guarantee Pavlik fights him next.Comment

I'll be happy if he faces either. If Jones is not shot then I agree he is a more dangerous opponent than Kelly, but he certainly isn't prime so I take Joe to beat him anyway. I think a loss to Pavlik would be worse than a loss to Jones in most people's eyes since no matter what, Jones was once truly great. I think the prospect of Calzaghe losing to either is extremely unlikely.Hopkins mentioned a lot of the negotiations himself with Warren. Needless to say, he was stunned.
