not at that point of Tyson's career. Maybe with non-boxing fans, but not with knowledgable boxing fans like us.

yeah i know that we know the tyson lewis beat was far beyond a prime tyson but really evander was also old and on his way to being less than top class.

Wasn't Evander at a good point in his career at the time of the Lewis fights? I think those fights were the beginning of the end for Evander

His bouts against Briggs, Klitschko, Holyfield 1, Tyson, Mercer, Golota and Ruddock were pretty exciting. That is more exciting fights then most heavyweights have had in the last ten years or so.

What other way would there be to prove yourself as an all-time great than knocking out Mike Tyson? That's what Lewis was thinking.

I feel the same way. But I would like to see what would happen if Mike got off the drugs and then fought someone. Lets see if its the drugs or if he has really calmed down to the point of no return.

He needed it too fullfill his record and by the time i think he did, he should retired than instead of meeting klitschko when not fully prepared, and then retiring after a so close match.
It makes his record a big?

yes he needed him, but what he really needed was a great fight, not fight great like he did. The Tyson fight really didn't prove really anything.
