the hardest biting dog measured is that of a Japanese Tosa on a consistent test. 900 psi. As for a hyena that has a bite force over 1k psi. As scavengers hyenas need to be able to bite through bones and digest them so they have highly acidic stomachs too. They have some pits considered freaks that would break through bones or colapse rib cages in a matches I have read about in pit bull books. Pits like boxers had different styles. Some of em were quite intelligent. You had your barnstormers, ear dogs who would tire opponents out, leg dogs, chest dogs, or dogs that went for the kill called belly busters(softest part of the dog). Hyenas have a flight or fight response and although they can bite won't have the insticts and intelligence to beat a pit. A lucky bite is all they need though.

        bull****!

I live in the west coast canada and have friend who guide.
        They have tracking dogs.
When the dogs are tracking a cougar the men have to stay a proper distance behind the dogs because.
        a) if the men are too close the cougar will smell them and keep running. they have to be far enough behind that the cougar will "tree" and wait for the dogs to come up on it.
        b) once the cougar is treed and sees that there are only dogs after it (say 3 or 4) if the cat doesnt smell the men coming soon it will drop out of the tree and kill the ****ing dogs like they were made of pudding!
a male cougar (150 lbs) will kill 3 or 4 good sized tracking dogs in 30 seconds!
this is what the experts in the field have told me.

If you have any doubt what a 150 lb cougar could do take a house cat (5lbs?) and try to drown it in a lake. a cougar is a mean mutherf@ckin wild animal and most peop1e have no clue what it can do!
A man (200lbs) can vertical jump ,what? 2 feet? a cougar can jump onto 15 foot roof with out even trying!
my opinion? a cougar would EASILY kill 4 pitbulls!
        rip them to flippin shreads!
pitbulls do much better agains small children in playgrounds.

LMFAO!! You do know that thing is about the same size as a housecat, right? That's also because Cougars are closely related to small felines. They have incredible athleticism though, and huge paws.

Males have an average weight of about 53 to 72 kilograms (115 to 160 pounds). In rare cases, some may reach over 120 kg (260 lb). Female average weight is between 34 and 48 kg (75 and 105 lb).[15] Cougar size is smallest close to the equator, and larger towards the poles.[3]

The cougar in that video isn't even full grown.

Nope Hyenas have THE STRONGEST bite not p4p but out of ANY land animal on earth, by far. Its not even close. THey have to take on lions. People are getting ****** now and not realizing that this is all genetic. Certain dogs are bred to on AVERAGE have certain characteristics. Meaning on average certain dog types will have on Average a higher natural biting force then other types of dogs. I dont know wat Rodbarker is talking about with all this individual crap. While that may be true among individuals yes ive seen little dogs take big dogs. All things being equal different dog species have better bite force then others. Now to think that a rotweiler or even a german shepard can take a wolf, the kings of all dogs? I would have to beg to differ since wolves are much bigger 200pounds for males with much bigger jaws. This is why hunters send more then 1 dog to overwelm bigger animals. Interesting conversation though. I just hate when people just assume because they own a couple of animals that they know more then the experts who study the damn things in the wild with just as much experience but get paid to truly pay attention and study such things for a goddamn living. lol. A hyena would **** any dog. **** ive seen these things take Lions. **** a couple of hundred pounds of pressure. We are talking thousands.

Actually, according to what I've heard on many wildlife shows over the years, hyeenas have a bite in the 2,500-3,000 psi range.

                    Me?

We have a big fat (200lb?) Bernese Moutain dog about 2 years old and a 8 month Great white pyramese.
The berner (Sir Rufus) is a big ***** and will eat marshmallows out of your mouth.
One day a good sized (120lb?) german shepard came into our yard, it was alone and must have got off leash or what ever.. our dog didnt give a **** till the shepard tried to take away its bone in our yard. That big fat f@cking ***** of a berner f@cking jumped up and ripped the shepards ear RIGHT F@CKING OFF it took like 2 seconds! the shepard squealed andf yelped and ran off and we never saw the owner or heard what happened to the dog.
It goes to show that when it comes down to it how pwerful and dangerous ANY dog can be.. Now add 4 claws to that?? NO thanx!
