If Cotto was a phyically strong fighter as you say he is then there would be no need for his to be backing away from fighters.

Cotto fights in spurts sometimes.. he lands a couple and backs away. What does that have to do with anything? De La Hoya had power.. he didn't just rush forward all the time.
Quintana, Urkel, Mosley and Judah.. Are you telling me that Margarito's records is better then this? If so, please go ahead and name the better oposition he has had!

And Cotto and Mosley cracked each other in the face back and forth.. both of which have power and no knock downs or knock out occured.

it wont matter cause we all know margarito has an iron chin... i think if margarito didnt throw his punches so wide he would put more damage to his opponents but thats just the way he fights

Cotto an accurate puncher is a nightmare for the stationary Tony. Iron chins are good, but have thier limits. Im pretty sure both fighters can break eachother down, but Cotto will be victiorious on the 26th, with counterpunching.

Thats what I been saying. Cotto has knocked out more quality opponents, Margarito's most impressive victory may have been against Cintron, but then again who has he fought? Margarito has a good amount of power, but I think people put to much into into it. I believe both his workrate & the number of punches he throws in an exchange are the reason his opponents get cracked. But Cotto seems to have more stopping power, then again he also throws a lot of punches in succession to the body. But his opponents always feel his power in the beginning straight threw the end. I think the physical strength goes to Margarito and punching power goes to Cotto.

the key is cleaner, crisp punches and cotto does that better than margarito. margarito throws too many looping, wider punches which is why it takes him a while to get ko's like vs cintron, if he comes swingin like that and cotto counters with those short rights and left hooks to the body he can definitely hurt margarito but marg is a tough s.o.b so it will take time to wear him down. cotto just needs to avoid those uppercuts and power hooks margarito throws cuz marg definitely has the power to give cotto problems

The cool thing about boxing is that power vs. power isn't a factor in most fights.

Yes, Miguel Cotto hits harder than Antonio Margarito.

Margarito also has the better chin, by far.

I think, ultimately, that Margarito's power/Cotto's chin vs. Cotto's power/Margarito's chin goes to Margarito, meaning that Margarito is more likely to knock Cotto out than vice versa (excluding body shots obviously).

I can see what I see. The showy punches Cotto lands in correct form (like a not as mobile or athletic Roy Jones) don't have the snap.

Cotto might punch a little harder, but it dosen't matter....Margarito is a tank and can take all Cotto's best shots...Cotto on the other hand is chinny and I can't see his chin holding up to Margarito's punches.
