Calzaghe is a more effective puncher than a great many fighters out there today, Paul Williams being the example that immediately springs to my mind.
During the Hopkins/Cal fight.......Steward did say that "Calzaghe is just slappin' with his punches". You must've missed that part.

They mention that he is slapping quite often. They dont say:

"Calzaghe is slapping with his punches. What a prick. He's a ***** and a disgrace to boxing. His slapping has really ruined this evening for me. Its completely ineffective and he isnt hurting his opponent a single bit".

In fact, in every Calzaghe fight I've seen (and thats the vast majority), the commentators have commented on the Calzaghe opponent being hurt.

No, I remember that. I've never heard Manny Steward say he was **** because of it though, have you?

Calzaghe hits with the inside of his hand.......maybe a straight punch or jab is the only time he hits with his knuckles, that's it.

Besides, Calzaghe doesnt 'slap' his punches because he's ****. He never used to do it. The only reason he does it is because when he punches cleanly too hard and too often he damages his hand and doesnt particularly fancy trying to face fellow champions/P4P fighters with only one hand working.

He can't say that on air but I'm sure he would of if his fighter was going up against Joe. He dissed Pavlik before the Taylor fight too.

But it's like I say, it may look like **** but it's effective. Doesn't mean I'm gonna sit here and praise him for his masterful boxing and technique.

That's not true. You're more likely to damage your wrists punching the way Calzaghe does then you are damaging your knuckles punching straight with a closed fist.

Floyd Mayweather is known for having brittle hands, does he slap?????

Explain how it's possible to hit with the inside of your hand with the way gloves are designed.
