If PPV sales are what matter, why...

is Ricky Hatton a bigger draw than Cotto?

Really, Hatton has had one PPV, and he wasn't the attraction of it. It was his first PPV, and Floyd's 5th.

Cotto already has had two... in which he was the star in one, for sure (unless some idiot really believes that Zab "losing streak" Judah is still the PPV draw).

So honestly, what is the excuse going to be after Cotto beats Margarito and after Mayweather beats Oscar if they don't fight?

There is no one around the 147 weight class who is a PPV draw other than Cotto.

Except Hatton sells out crowds of 56,000. He has fans that travel across the ocean for him, and he's very marketable with the 24/7 series (Nice guy, little bit ****y, has pride, nation resting on his shoulders, family man, devoted, witty, funny, etc).

edit: Oh and Ricky is somewhat of a bigger draw. Ricky had 281, 000 views in the afternoon on Saturday and Cotto-Gomez (along with Cintron-Margarito) only did a little more then that at night.

Granted Versus is free, but a lot of people have HBO too.

I dont think he is arguing that Cotto is a bigger draw than Hatton..

Plain and simple Cotto needs to do more buys, the more buys he does the quicker the fight will happen, dont blame Floyd for Cotto's unpopularity.

I hope you aren't saying that to imply that Cotto is not a true warrior...

He has dismantled almost all of his opponents. The end of the Mosley fight is a rarity in his career.

Its not all about domestic ppv buys, im sure the mayweather fight had millions of buys overseas. Also as people have mentioned, hatton puts fans in their seats, something many fighters can not say.

Zab was the reason it was on PPV. Cotto was a nobody then and Zab can always bring in big numbers in The Garden.

I always wonder why people ask this question. It's obvious if you look at Hatton's bout before the Mayweather one. 30K flew from OVER THE POND just to see him fight. That's thousands of dollars and that translated to how big of a draw he was.
