This is 2008, you just can't live 2004 for very long. What is simply impressive that Floyd has done in the 147 pound division to garner such praise? Who has he beat? Any welterweight ranked in the top 10. Then compare to the other 147 pound fighters and tell me how many top 10 ranked contenders each of them has faced. Don't get me wrong, Floyd is an incredible talent, but what he did back then has nothing to do with now.

Great for him he has the option to pick and choose his fights, but if not fighting the best, how can he be the best? Bigger bank account? Yea, he wins there, but boxing is based on in ring accomplishments and nothing more. Nobody really cares what his statements look like, its what his record against the best looks like. Right now, Floyd Mayweather Jr. isn't fighting the best and thats a fact. He has even said it himself I'll remind you once more. "I don't want a part of no welterweights". Again, I'll kindly ask, explain to me how that makes him pound for pound number 1 the best fighter today.
First off, the majority of pro boxing's top writers and ranking organizations agree on the accomplishments Floyd has been able to achieve by fighting the fighters he's fought, enough to consider him HOF material.

The subtle clue that most don't seem understand or seem to miss, is that Floyd, being the supremely talented athlete that he is, has made 'most' of his fights look easy on his way to victory.

It would be a shame and a disrespect to the top ranked fighters he's faced by asking "who has he fought?", as if all he fought were purely tomato cans with no skills or talent on his way to the top. A deeper look into most of the top ranked fighters' records he's faced in major fights, will reveal their respected accomplishments, and top ranked status before Floyd stepped into the ring with them.

Many people make it sound like he's been gifted all of his victories by grossly incompetent judges, without putting out much effort compared to most of the top contenders who get into wars and eek out wins to the fans' satisfaction.

**** outta here I don't know ****. I know what weight divisions are, you're saying Hatton is bigger, by what though? I'm saying Floyd by height is bigger. Floyd is also longer in the arms with a 72 inch reach while Ricky Hatton is 65. Floyd also appeared to be broader in frame when they stood toe to toe during the fight. All I have stated constitutes to being bigger.

I'm not saying he isn't a HOFer, I'm not saying he hasn't fought anybody nor have I said that hes received alot of gifts. I'm questioning what he has done at 147 to be considered, a. the best fighter in the division and b. by refusing to fight the absolute best, how does that make him the best fighter in the world today? Nothing you've just said addresses any of that.

So is Hearns bigger than Hagler?

            NO

            Is Pavlik bigger than Tyson?

He is taller with a longer reach...NOPE

MOST of Floyd's 39 ights were at 130 and 135..

HE'S A SMALLER THAN HATTON in boxing terms..Since boxing is DIVIDED BY WEIGHT and not by HEIGHT and REACH

Floyd is also broader in shoulders and chest. I've tried to be civil with you, but your boneheaded ass just doesn't get it. Show me 1 ****ing picture toe to toe, in the ring where Ricky Hatton is bigger than Floyd Mayweather.

I agree that Floyd should either fight the winner of Cotto and Margarito after DLH or should quit claiming to be P4P #1. Still the idea that he's scared to fight a welterweight is a bit flawed. If he's so scared to fight a welterweight then why did he fight a much larger Junior Middleweight with arguably better boxing skills than either Cotto or Margarito?I can see both sides of the argument but I doubt Floyd is "scared" of any of the current welterweights.

Let me try to slow this down to moron level
