i could not agree more. whats funny to me is how some people **** on cottos performance and record and praise mayweather as the p4p best in the same breath. the two fighters could have more in common. outstanding amatuer back grounds, olympians, both brought up in top rank through excellent match making(not padded) to bring them along to the point where they are now. i have to give the nod to cotto because he is currently facing the best competition and has said publicly that he will fight floyd but floyd and his managers keep saying he is not important and not a big money draw. what about giving the fans what they want. not just floyd fans who seem content with his low risk high reward style. just because his fights have just recently started to sell well (thanks to oscar and hatton) does not mean its good for boxing, its just good for floyd.

Floyd said, "If Cotto becomes his own CEO, I'd definitely fight him." He said that on ESPN. All Cotto has to do if he REALLY wants the fight is to leave Top Rank the same way Oscar and Floyd did when they were around the same age.

So, is Cotto going to be his own man and manage his own career? Or is he going to continue to let Arum call him a "good boy" and screw him out of fights with DLH and Mayweather because of bridges he's already burned? If I was Cotto, and I know that I'm not, I would find a way out of the Top Rank contract and get the Mayweather and DLH fights.

Hmm interesting because TWO posts above yours you have a floyd fan named Javelin saying the exact opposite about whatever you're rambling about. He gives Tony credit and says he's high risk.

To me this is a lose lose situation for cotto. People will keep down playing him if he wins or if he loses. Haters are haters... Regardless of how he wins or better yet who ever wins of these two fighters should be given the respect of the boxing world. They had the balls to step up and fight all commers, weak or champions, they gave no excuses and faught who they needed to fight. I can't say the same for Floyd. Is Floyd good yes some may even say great, on paper he's untouchable in a class of his own, but as a boxing fan you can't fool me. See whats happening here is people keep down playing Floyds actions by minimizing Cottos and any other ww accomplishments to keep Floyd pound for pound and to keep him on top. Sorry guys in my book your only as good as your competition. You fight the best to be the best, you beat the best to be great.

Much weaker competition? Shane Mosley used steroids to get a gift decision against Oscar. Zab is Zab is Zab. Same guy. Gomez sucks. Hatton, midget or not, is better than him. Baldomir and Margarito may be of the same calibre. If anything Margarito is younger and might be better, but Baldomir held the linear title at the time and paid just as well so Floyd went with that fight.

Explain to me how Floyd is fighting much weaker competition...AND you don't get to steal Bob Arum's talking points this time either.
