Enzo was protected before Haye and the only name that stood out on his resume was an over the hill Braithwaite.

Braithwaite wasn't over the hill at age 31, although Don King's keeping him inactive for long periods wasn't good for him. Briathwaite was definitely not shot - how can a fighter be shot with so few fights - but since he hadn't fighting often enough, he was not as sharp as he could have been.

But although Maccarinelli is a fairly good boxer with some power, he's much too slow for the slick Steve Cunningham.

There's a lot of excellent young fighters, better than Macca, at cruiserweight, such as Alexeev who fights today. I can't imagine Maccarinelli winning another title, even the iron-chinned old Firat Arslan would win a decision or KO over him. Kraj, who should defeat Fragomeni to win the WBC title, would likely decision Maccarinelli.
