Former champion Enzo Maccarinelli has targeted a showdown with IBF cruiserweight king Steve Cunningham at Liberty Stadium. Macca is trying to reclaim an upper tier position at the weight after being stopped by David Haye within two-rounds in March. He would love to get the shot in the summer. Macca is slated to return on July 12, no opponent has been set. Many feel Macca may be asking for a bit too much after losing his last bout by knockout, especially since Cunningham is viewed by some as the best fighter in the cruiserweight division. [details]

Cunningham took the bigger risk, fought and beaten the better line of fighters so far and has better skills. If Cunningham showed that he couldn't take a punch, then i would favor him, but he has an excellent chin. Marco Huck(who is a powerful puncher) hit him with everything but the kitchen sink and couldn't even stagger him. Cunningham by unanimous decision.

Gotta give Macca credit for wanting the big fights, especially after a heavy knockout loss in his last bout.
In the Haye fight he got careless and caught flush by IMO the hardest puncher p4p. Macca was very disappointed in his performance last night and I expected better. Coming into the Haye fight, Enzo was showing improvement in each fight and many, including me, thought he had a good chance of shocking Haye; I was wrong. If the Cunningham fight comes off I would have to go with The "USS" Cunningham by decision, but Macca would be a very much live underdog.

Enzo is 2 slow and USS has the better skill. I see a UD for the champion! Why does the challenger need to leave home 2 defend his title. He traveled 2 get it so give his fans a shot 2 see him live.
