Versus is channel 146 where I live. For almost 300k to watch it with scarce advertising, that isn't that bad....

Those seem like decent numbers for a network like Versus, which is known mostly to hockey fans. Really it depends on how much they paid for the fight to know whether it was a good investment. Also I'd like to know their ratings for NHL games for comparison.

First of all, those numbers are horrendous.
Second of all, Hatton never has and never will have a fanbase in the U.S. He may be the second biggest draw in boxing, but that is only because of his following in England.
Third of all, stop making excuses for those **** ratings.

                    Cotto-Gomez had 1.1 million viewers.

The article pegs the broadcast at around ~$150K for Versus.

Versus gets around 250K viewers for regular season NHL games; playoff games get more than double that.

Yea i do not think it is to bad. Cable numbers are a lot different then network numbers. I was suprised by how little this fight got promoted, it was barely on the Versus website. i saw a couple commercials when i was watching hockey but they were advertising WEC way more. Thay paid low 6 figures for this fight which is pretty close to what they pay Bob Arum for the fights he does on the network.

I would not call the numbers great but you can only expect so much fighting on an obscure network with little promotion on said network and virtually no promotion that wasn't on the network.
