I'd like to know the share as well. Mr. KBall, who has a degree in boxing business studies, seems to think that doing more than a quarter million viewers in America on a Saturday afternoon is horrible.

For the time slot and given the demographics, it seemed to be a huge success.

kind of funny because certain people, dont need to be named, keep claiming that Hatton was chosen over Cotto because Hatton has more pull in America Marketing wise. This is clearly not the case.

This was during the afternoon in a different country and barely promoted...

        The numbers are impressive...
Versus has only been a television station for a few years. They obviously don't have the budget HBO or Showtime has to promote a fight. They aren't going to be taking out full page ads in Ring Magazine or SI magazine. With what they had to work with, they did very good numbers.

I told people about this fight and they were like, "What the **** is the Versus channel?" Most people don't even know the channel exists. My brother, a boxing fan, thought the channel was a HUNTING network. So, that and combined with the fact that it was at 12:30 in the day time, which boxing is NEVER at, no promotion, it probably wasn't that bad, all things considered.

it probably would've been more had it been promoted more and longer on VERSES and had it been at better time, 12:30 pm here in the states, not a lot of casual sports fans going to tune in on boxing during the middle of the day, sad to say, especially when the fighters aren't that too well known, hatton obviously is the draw, but lazcano, malignaggi and ndou, aren't going to have people drop what they're doing or change the channel in the break room at work. sad to say, almost every other sport over here in the states takes higher priority over boxing, especially during the middle of the day while other games are being played.

had that been a night fight and been promoted there would be about at least another 100k of viewers.............. in my humble opinion.

Yeah man I also don't have Versus.

I had to download the fight later, but considering the fee Versus paid and the decent rating for the time slot I would think it was a success.

alot of people dont have VS for one, for two it wasnt one HBO, ask someone what channel the stanley cup playoffs are on and they couldnt even tell you. Hatton has more pull just based on the fact that hes a white man in a marquee fight who was being sold as a legit competitor, not to mention, cottos ratings on HBo werent any better, regardless, hatton/mayweathers live ppv made them both alot of money, so thas why the fight was made, period.
