Anytime Pavlik fights a no name, they should have the fight in Youngstown. Just like Boom Boom Mancini did. More fighters/promoters need to do that, bring the fighters back home every once in awhile.

I'm NOT surprised AT ALL, because people wanted to see TAYLOR lose because NOBODY really liked HIM. SERIOUSLY, believe me because CAPITALIZATION is IMPORTANT.

So it has nothing to do with Lockett being a complete unknown?

Pavlik should sign up to be on next season's dancing with the stars

People are not used to paying to watch executions.

Oh, and Arum is blaming George Bush for the poor ticket sales... not even kidding.

A poor live crowd and low ratings (especially if Showtime beats it) would almost certainly kill the Rubio card. Or at the very least Arum would have to package it with a monster card (not just the battle of the juniors).

OBVIOUSLY that's also part of the SITUATION, but even if he were fighting a more WELL KNOWN opponent, then his SALES still wouldn't be as good as it was in the TAYLOR fight.

Not only is Pavlik not a household name yet, but who the **** is Lockett? Arum was real dumb for not giving Winky the shot. Winky is far from a draw himself, but at least he's more recognizable than Lockett.

idk why people dont think Winky is a draw. He drew a big crowd to watch him fight Quartey.

He drew almost all 10,000 of the fans that watched him fight B-hop.

He sold out the place with Trinidad. Got a big crowd on hand against Taylor.

And he never dips below 300,000 buys.

AFter he beat Trinidad, he was a big name in the sport for a while. It wore off, and its probably gone now after his massive layoff, but he's a pretty decent draw still
