  • Favorite Obscure Fights

Couldn't think of a better way to word the title, but it doesn't have to be an obscure fight, but just one that isn't as popular, well know, or maybe from an older era that definitely isn't discussed in today's scene.

Ruddock vs Morrison for me is one of my favorites. Standing 8 count sucks, as does the 3 knockdown rule, but it was a fantastic fight.

BTW I've just recieved my copy of 'No country for old men.' off the back of your recommendation, I'm just gonna start it.
If it's **** I'm gonna hunt you down and cut ya.

If you don't like it, I'll eat my hat... although I'm not wearing one at the moment.

Katsidis Earl was a war... I can't remember what undercard it was on but, but I liked the Amonsot fight more.

Gomez vs. Mexican. That was a brutal fight... they had to stretcher Gomez off at the end.

        I keeed, I keeeeeeed!

        Okay:

        Takaloo vs. Alexander
Two guys no better than British title level, but Alexander can CRACK. Takaloo's beating him out of sight and the ref's about to step in as he's under a serious barrage. All of a sudden - ****! - Tak's out. I love those "****, you're out you ****er" punches... vaguely reminiscent of Julian Jackson vs. Graham.

Soto vs Juarez. Juarez was on a tear at the time and undefeated. Soto was a guy that had lost fight fights and he came in there and won a close fight. That fight made me a fan of Soto.

            derek bryant vs. taurus sykes.

bryant knocked sykes out with a running/flying punch that left both guys ont he floor.

sykes was so KTFO that he crawled out the ring and started wandering around in the crowd.... which was set up in a formal table arrangement, he was walking around and eveyrone pointing him abck into the ring and ol taurus is like "Huh What?"

Blasphemy, there was nothing close about that fight. Soto blew Juarez out and the judge's scorecards were an absolute ****-sucking of Juarez. I remember it being on the undercard of Vargas' comeback and fight against Castillejo.

              Either that or I'm crazy.

Toney-McCallum 1, a tactical battle between two superskill fighter, but fought at a terrific pace, with plenty of punching.

Yeah I felt Soto clearly won, but the scorecards were close so that's why I said it was close. Your right it was on the Vargas/Castillejo card.

Kid Diamond against Huerta that was a pretty good scrap even though Huerta got robbed.
