I was looking at my old boxnig Ring magazines from the early 90's and even then we had Mexico represented well in the P4P list.

I still say it is hard to dominate something when you don't have a single fighter in the top 3 (which was the case when this thread was made). Marquez being #3 makes the argument a little more feasible, but...

In the Tour de France, if there are 6 Bolivians in the top 10, but all are at the bottom of the top 10, would you really say that they dominated the race, even though none of them made it on the medal stand?

I mean, clearly latinos are showing that they have a ton of great fighters on the P4P list (and even off of it with fighters like JM Lopez), but... I just don't think they are quite deserving of the term "dominating".

If the list consisted of 3 you have a point, but it consist of 10. Any fighter and any fan would love for his country fighter to at least be recognized at 10. But only 10 are and only 1 can truly be number 1. But more Mexican boxers populate the p4p list. Just the way it is.

I'm not bitter about it... the longer I watch boxing, the more I appreciate Mexican fighters.

Barrera, Morales, Vazquez and Marquez have given me some of the most exciting times in my life, just watching their fights.

I just put a lot of stock in the top of the list I guess.

I guess I was just trying to say that the word "domination" is not correct IMO. Latinos are doing better than every other race in the sport, meaning they are in first place, but the fact that Pacquaio and Calzaghe are both considered above every Latino fighter just makes it hard for me to say that they are dominating the sport. If a Juan Diaz or someone like that knocks off Pacquiao, then I think you are going to have a pretty easy argument that they are dominating, because Calzaghe being #1 just won't cut it when trying to say that they aren't dominating.

4 mexicans in the top 10 of the p4p is very impressive and makes me proud to be a mexican. we have the best fighters in the world and the most true warriors. what would boxing be without mexicans??

Marquez beat Pacquiao and even the Ring who have him at #1 said so.
