If he had kept up this style in the pros instead of going so much for power, he would have been unbeatable!

Nonetheless, great fighter and very underrated. Goes to show those who say he couldn't box. Maybe that's why he was so good against slick boxers?

I think KT learned his lesson in the Phillips fight. After that he went back to being a boxer/puncher instead of gunning for the KO.

It wasn't really a KO though was it? The ref just stepped in and stopped it. He was so tired, which was a big problem for him in his early days. His stamina was very suss for a while because he thought he could wipe everyone out in a few rounds. After that Phillips fight though, he changed the way he fought working more on stamina. Great vid, I just wished he had stayed with his am style of fighting more.

Thats done the rounds numerous times , KT was a great amateur 300 or so fights and was a lot better amateur than what Forrest was , KT was always destined to be a WC , styles can beat styles to beat Kostya you got to force him back . Phillips did it , Hatton did and Lopez did it and although Hector lost , he showed the blueprint that others used to beat him .

Yeah man, without a doubt. The same thing happened in both his losses. He fought someone he could have easily and without much trouble out-boxed, but instead he didn't think much about his stamina and when he couldn't KO them in five rounds he gassed out. That's what happens when you fall in love with power too much and you're thirty six .

Props for mentioning the Hector Lopez fight one hell of a fight.

Im not sure when i started following Tszyu but before his ko lost he was a wrecking ball. Though he left a bad impression against Roger Mayweather but his performances after were better so he still had that killer instinct and was a badass even after that performance.

I look back at some of his early fights that i hadn't seen and its crazy to see the name opponets he faced so early in his boxing career, you just knew he was going to be something special.

But to be honest after the ko lose i kind of stopped watching Tszyu fight cause he lost his killer instinct that he had prior. He did great in beating Hurtado and Gonzalez and Ruelas great wins for Tszyu! But he wasn't the killer i'd known. But those fight were probably the last fights of his that i was really looking forward to view. The other fight Santos, Tackie he just went through the motions with thos guys. But he showed the Tzyu of old when he fought Mitchell that was a good fight and the 2nd fight that was the Tszyu of old. The Hatton fight was very surprising, but Hatton was the real deal. Not sure how a fight would have been if Tszyu was in his prime v. Hatton.
