On the trials and tribulations of poverty and how they realte to fighters:

“Eveyone in our gym is real sofy spoken and polite. Like I tell my fighters, someone is trying to punch you in the face. In my gym we fight becasue the majority of the people that come had to fight on the streets and fight to live. We all were poor and ain’t had nothing so we fight with a certain type of tenacity that a lot of people can’t get becasue they didn’t go through what we went through and so i don’t feel the same way. So when I am working [James] corner, I’m like “beat the **** out of him”. You ever watch him fight? He’s like a shark. He’s like me. I’m a killer. i hate to tell people that. I’m trying to hurt you for the rest of your life while I am inside the ring. He’s not scared of anybody and has the power to back it up. He has some hellified power.”

    Wolfe on thier relationship:

“He’s like my brother. He is truly 100% like my brother. When I came to the gym he was 12 years old. The olny coach we have ever had is pops. then I started doing his conditiong. The way we train. We spar with 20 oz gloves. We hot the bag with 20 oz gloves. When we spar we like it’s a fight. All the kids I have in the gym fight like that.”
thnx for the interview. i have read some of her interviews but i have only watched one. and, as i mentioned, i have the ward/wolfe fight on tape. so i am famiiar with her at least a bit. one thing i hate about her, though, is the christianity she spouts off when she wins. i hate anybody who does that. religion has absolutely zero to do with sports - even if the sportsman/woman believes they do.

vonda, the chick she laid out, had to be carried off on a stretcher. obviously she recieved medical attention and was pretty well ****ed up. i believe anne visited her in the hospital afterwards.

ali did indeed duck wolfe. originally, ali vs wolfe was supposed to be a main undercard on some ppv. anne said that she would fight laila for free if they promoters coyuldn't get something done.

**** laila ali. she lost my respect being a majore role model as a chick boxer when she ducked anne wolfe like 10 times. ali obviosly didn't have the spirit of her dad. i'm sure watching wolfe take care of ward in the first round that brutally took some of the spirit out of her though.

if they would have fought, ali would have been laid out by round 5. that, or something nasty. wolfe can ****. anne doesn't even spar with chicks - she spars with guys. and even the guys say she hits hard.

anne wolfe would ko 90% or more of the people on boxingscene.

No way Wolfe could've gained enough to be competetive with Ali. Layla is huge, and Ann is actually a pretty petite woman. Highly skilled, and a tremendous athlete, but dainty. Kinda hot, actually Ali would've murdered her, I think.

Incidentally, I saw Wolfe step into the ring with a guy, once. He knocked her out cold. She jumped on him, thinking she was going to end it herself, and I guess in a way she did. He jumped right back and gave her a perfect example of the athletic differences between men and women.

whatcha mean? the steamrolling approach were u run 'em down and rip heads off? that is the characteristic of my boxing style.

i wish pac did that a bit more.

if that's what u mean, pac would've won that first marquez fight in round 1. i don't think a ref would let a guy with 4 kd's continue.

yeah that is what i mean. well pac has been very agressive and his performance from round 1 to round 12 is still the same. although kirkland his busting heads off i still haven't seen him with a good counter puncher and having a fight till round 12. that being said in a different category where pacquiao is. didn't brutally defeat barrera and morales both the top featherweight of their time. it's just that in pac's category there is a good counter puncher and a smart boxer such as marquez. even so with marquez skills he had been dropped by pacquiao 4 times in 2 of their fights. i would still say amazing.

ha, yeah as an atheist I understand completely what you're saying, but that's kind of the nature of sports. I mean, it's everywhere, lot's of guys/women, first thing they say when they win is "I just want to thank Jesus/God/Allah/etc." I personally can't relate to that, but I understand if that's their beliefs I can't knock 'em for it. It is what it is.
