Campbell/Casa seems like to be the better fight, but even though King won the bid Casa will probably select Juan Diaz. Because it seems like he'll get more money and he also won't be obligated to King if he wins and want's to defend the title again. I think Casa's movement would present some problems for Diaz. I could see him chasing him all over the ring and having a hard time finding him while Casa get's in a few shots. The reason Katsidis gave Casa some trouble is because of his power, Juan doesn't have much. Plus Casa seems to show up in big fights, who knows Casa may not have much left in the tank.

very confusing. But the good thing (for me anyways) is that if THIS fight goes down instead, then maybe Campbell will fight Joan Guzman?!

The date they are looking at for Casamayor-Diaz would be in September, six month after he suffered bad cuts against Campbell. A tuneup in between would subject his eye to more punches and jeopardize the healing process and possibly throwing off a fight with Casamayor. That's probably not an option.

Incufan, Casamayor is an interim/mandatory challenger. The promoter who wins a purse bid on a fight with a mandatory challenger and a champion does not get any options on the challenger to fight for the title shot he earned in the ring.

Juan Diaz must be a ticket-seller in his hometown whereas neither Casamayor or Campbell have the same kind of fan base anywhere on this planet. Selling it truthfully as a make it or break it bout for the popular Baby Bull should jack up the gate enormously.
This is what is wrong with boxing. You can't call it a sport like that.

If Casamayor doesn't fight Campbell, it's likely that Campbell will fight Anthony Peterson since he's also a mandatory challenger. Guzman isn't eligible for a title shot at 135 because he's not ranked in the division.

              Incorrect.

Guzman is ranked #1 in the WBO, #3 in the WBA

Well then, would you look at that? You learn something new everyday. I was under the impression that since Guzman hadn't fought previously above 130 pounds that there was no way he could earn a ranking at 135.

To me, there is something wrong when a guy can bypass fighters like Amir Khan, Juan Diaz and Michael Katsidis in the rankings when you've never fought in that division.

The article earlier said something about that if Casa were to fight Campbell and beat him that he would possibly give up a belt and move on to other lucrative fights. I thought that's what it said, but maybe im wrong.

I'm not quite sure how it works either but it's only 5 pounds, not like going from middleweight to light heavy or something more drastic.

I know for example Jermaine Taylor is ranked in the top 10 at supermiddle.

Also, I'm sure it has to do with champions going up a few pounds as well, like I'm sure Pacquaio or Mayweather for example were highly rated every time they stepped up.
