Aaron Pryor vs Floyd Mayweather @ 140lb over 15 rounds

This is a very intruiging matchup especially if it's scheduled for 15 rounds.

I got Pryor by decision. He just keeps going forward at his opponents, I don't think Mayweather would have the power to deter and hurt him but Mayweather could score a flash knockdown early. I think it'd be pretty close the first 7 or 8 rounds but Pryor's workrate and stamina will start to show down the stretch.

Edit: After thinking about it a little more, I think Mayweather would be smart enough last the distance but a Pryor knockout is possible.

Tough fight. Pryor would have to settle down a bit and stay on the outside at times like he did against Arguello rather than just rush in wildly, as Mayweather could counter him all day. Mayweather moves and defends well, I'd predict either Mayweather UD or Pryor TKO. Arguello lost primarily because he's flat-footed (stands in front of opponents), which came into play since he couldn't get Pryor out of there even with his ridiculous power and timing. Both were going for the jugular vein as they always did. Mayweather in contrast could sit back and pile up points, aiming to go the distance.

I think it would be a pretty close fight as well but we have never seen Mayweather in those old championship rounds 13, 14 and 15. That's when Pryor excels in his fights.

Excels? Pryor almost never went into the championship rounds, in fact not once before the first fight with Arguello which was at the end of his career. That's why Arguello insisted on a 15 round fight while Pryor wanted a 12 rounder, he thought he would be able to take him late due to this fact, in addition to his legendary abilities as a slow starter (which in a way he did, Arguello found his rhythm mid-to-late, but fell off at the end).

Again you're mistaken. Pryor only had two fights go beyond 9 before Arguello. Image is clouding facts, Pryor started fast and got guys out of there. 39 wins, 35 KOs.

I said mid to late which IMO is about round 6. He blew out earlier opposition but when stepped up in competition went past 6 rounds more often than not.

It would be middle rounds only then. Also I would say it was less coming on stronger in the middle rounds, and more coming on the entire fight. He basically only showed one pace in his career until the middle rounds against Arguello. He did have a tendency to step up the intensity even more when he got knocked down or hit with hard shots though (I'm not sure if you can say hurt). It's hard to differentiate between "intense" and "really intense."
