motha****a you're talking to an ex promoter. i know exactly how the industry works. i never said he wasnt intelligent or hasn't made brilliant business moves, you are assuming that because your feelings for floyd transcend normal fanship and cross the line into something deeper. im agreeing with jeff that Floyd has put on a facade for money. any fool with out PBF posters in their bathrooms can see that. when you become more of a business man than a boxer, quality will not always be the priority and you as a "business man" should understand that right?

look at the record industry right now. content with substance doesn't sell. gone are the days when someone like Nas was able to go platinum with albums that had for substance than flash. Gone are the days when singer/songwriters ruled the airwaves such as Fiona Apple and Sara McGlaughlan, but now its manufactured "pop princesses" who are carefully sculpted to appeal to a certain target audience, a certain demographic naive and ignorant enough of the situation that they will shell out money for the product that is being sold.

Thats the same **** that Floyd is doing now. He is bypassing content with substance (significant fights) for insubstantial content that sells (DLH, Hatton) therefore not producing anything of quality or significance. And the funny thing is Floyd can get all the money he wants. I dont give a **** and I'm not jealous. I know of drug kingpins with more money and bitches Floyd could dream of that I could be jealous of. But if he is going to profit off of the labels he has been given, P4P champ etc, and not live up to the standards of those who were labeled that in the past that made the sport what it is today, then you damn well better expect people, fans, the community to criticize this fool because its never going to end. live with it.

It seems like if you like Mayweather (The boxer) people automatically think you're black, Into hip-hip..50 cents or whatever, I know 95% of the people who admire Mayweather the boxer dont give a **** what he does outside of boxing.

These threads and discussions are centered around the disapproval of Mayweather's run as the pound for pound elite. He has denied the public the fights that the people demand on account of self-preservation, in essence holding the best division in boxing hostage.
