Ricky is definitely a marked man by those trying to make some coin off his name. There is no other fighter at 140 that can produce the money like Ricky can, and that's a fact.

I think that as long as Ricky stays away from elite fighters such as Mayweather, Cotto, and even DLH, he should be OK. His chin is good, but it's not good enough to stand in the ring with the three I've just mentioned. He probably won't have much of a problem with fighters like Bradley, Hopkins, and Malignaggi who lack the power to seriously hurt him in the ring (I've picked Paulie to beat Ricky before and, as long as his right hand makes it through the fight, I think he can outbox Ricky), and I think he'd beat Torres in a war of attrition in which both fighters would probably taste the canvas (Torres' lack of conditioning would be his disadvantage in this fight).

Yup, Ricky should be able to win 3-4 more fights and then retire, so long as he stays away from elite fighters.

Hatton is a fool to want to fight Floyd again. I don't think he's beat Judah,Cotto or any of the 'smaller welterweights'. He should do like Calzaghe and retire before the public demands they actually fight a quality opponent and get themselves exposed. I personally feel that they are two of the most over rated fighters in the game. One clinches, hits and holds and the other is a rapid sissy slapper.
i couldnt agree with you more, he is not a top talent at all, just a overhyped brawler. Torres, Holt, Paulie, and Witter would own him in the US

I would say Lamont Peterson would be a great matchup, he is not going to run from Hatton, and he isn't afraid to go toe to toe either, Peterson has also built a nice fan base via ESPN as well - and he is Undefeated as a Pro also.

Lamont may be too sharp for Hatton though, his defense is tight, and his punching is sharp, he is definately the better counterpuncher. I think it would be a tough test for both fighters - but I can hear it now - "And NEW".....

Hatton is easy money for any top jw or welter in the game right now. no defense or devastating power and a beaten chin makes him a huge target! The farse is over!

A guy earns a hard fought decision against a game Lazcano, an underdog guy who was hellbent on making a great impression in front of a massive crowd against a big name opponent, and people give Hatton smack about it. Everyone that fights Hatton now will be giving 100%. Every fight is going to be hard fought.
Great call...they cant all be blockbusters.

Hatton was hurt against Lazcano but this is a boxing match, you are going to get hurt. Hattons style isn`t one of elusiveness, he comes to fight and takes the punches.

The same people who are calling Hatton a bum for getting rocked are the same ones who would say Hatton fought a lame opponent if he walked through Lazcano and knocked him out in 4 rounds.

Hatton isnt a legend of a fighter, but i think he's great to watch, its called entertainment.

If you want to watch no one getting hurt by shots and two guys running away from each other, go and watch the Hopkins Wright re run.
