Fernando 'Cochulito' Montiel (36-2-1, 27 KOs) will make the eighth defense of his WBO superfly belt on Saturday against Luis 'Titi' Maldonando (37-2-1, 28 KOs) in the Plaza de Toros "El Paseo" in San Luis Potosí, Mexico. A win Saturday could set up a unification clash with WBC/WBA champ Cristian Mijares later this year. "First I need to defeat my challenger Maldonado," said Montiel, a three-time world champion in the fly and superfly divisions who has had 17 world championship fights. "If there's no rematch with Travieso (Jorge Arce) and Mijares, I said to (promoter) Fernando Beltran to get me this fight against Cristian Mijares." 'Cochulito' says he's not looking past Maldonado. "In my mind is to beat Maldonado," he commented. "I must be very careful, he's very experienced." The two-time world title challenger Maldonado stated, "It's a great chance that is coming in a great tme. I know Montiel and he's a great champion, but the third time is the charm, and with our styles it will be a great fight. I'm becoming champion of the world."
What do you think of the match-up and who do you think would win.
It's a hard one to call. Two EXCITING fighters, one who relies more on boxing and one who relies more on power. And both have the attribute that they DON'T rely on, on top of that. GREAT fight.

By the way, I stole this.
