Flawed question. Floyd Mayweather Jr. has done more in the sport than Cotto, and has done it across 5 weight classes. If Miguel gets past Margarito, Mayweather will fight him and beat him in 2009.

When that happens, will you be ready to eat your words about who the better welterweight, or fighter period, is? Simple question, requiring a yes/no answer only.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't you pick Shane to win against Cotto?

i'll answer the question based on the knowledge i have been given by members of the Coalition since I've been here.

things i have learned preached by the coalition

              1. miguel cotto is overrated and does nothing for floyd's legacy

according to floyd and most of his "coalition", cotto hasn't done enough to earn a shot at mayweather but just beat a faded judah and an old past his prime washed up mosley (who incidentally beat dlh twice)

              2. miguel cotto isnt good enough to be considered as an opponent to floyd mayweather

according to floyd and most of his "coalition", cotto has flaws that need serious fixing. he would be to easy a feat for mayweather so it would be pointless

              3. miguel cotto is a nobody and casual fans have no interests in him.

according to floyd and most his "coalition", cotto has no personality and would make a boring 24/7 regardless of how exciting his fight style is. his ppv average of about 350 per fight and low hbo rating for the gomez fight is not enough to warrant a fight with mayweather.

              4. miguel cotto is working for Bob Arum and is not a entrepreneur.

according to floyd and most of his "coalition", as long as cotto is under Bob Arum's wing, he will not even entertain the thought of fighting him. he needs to be his own boss and build himself up.

              5. miguel cotto is from puerto rico and doesn't speak english.

according to floyd and most of his "coalition", miguel cotto is from puerto rico (i honestly don't know why floyd said this when asked about a fight with cotto) and according to the "coalition" he doesn't speak english but only spanish which would turn casual fans away and make it hard for them to relate to cotto (you know besides him being a dedicated family man who survived a life threatening car crash).

now, all these reasons and excuses are all documented on this forum and provided by members of the coalition. a simple search would turn up the evidence to what i posted in this post.

all these are pretty much reasons given when Margarito was being referred to as the fighter Floyd didn't want to fight and we all know how that ended up right? So if we take a look at history knowing how it repeats itself considering the evidence provided by Floyd's most dedicated supporters on this forum, all the signs point to floyd not stepping in the ring with Cotto.

im not saying he's going to duck cotto, but just view cotto as another margarito who isn't worth his time. this according to "the coalition" of course.

How is the question flawed? Your answer is flawed because Mayweather started his career before Cotto did and by the time Cotto is at the stage Mayweather is now he will have accomplished more then he has and I guarantee that..

Anyway, what Mayweather did at lightweight or junior welter... none of that **** matters.. you know why? Because the welterweight rankings aren't based of that **** so this is why your answer is flawed and not the question.

The question is flawed because you seem to believe that Floyd gives a **** about "welterweight supremacy" at this stage in his career. He doesn't. After a decade+ of work in the ring, he's only interested in getting back in it for the maximum paydays. Dominating welterweight was never his objective when he got there. Welterweight was a stepping stone to Oscar, and winning the most prestigous version of the world title at light-middleweight against a guy with the strength and size advantages Oscar has over Floyd at that weight is more of an achievement than anything Cotto will ever do. Cotto's next move, in likelihood, is to get Knocked The **** Out by Margarito.

But, if he survives Margarito, he will bring the requsite excitement to the table in order to make the Mayweather/Cotto fight viable.

So don't give me a "guarantee" that your boy cannot live up to, just answer my question.

i did. your homeboys did a good job of convincing me that mayweather wont give cotto the time of day. now you don't like the fact that i agree with you and your comrades?
