I won't be answering it because it is a subjective question. The question of whethere a fighter is great or in their prime is purely a matter of opinion and even if a fighter is not in their prime it does not necesarilly mean they are an easy opponent. For example, Calzaghe and Mayweather hold recent victories over Hopkins and De La Hoya respectively, now while neither of us could claim that those two fighters were in their prime I don't think that means we should dismiss the victories over them.

Mayweather has the better resume and it's not even debatable.

He's beaten more A class/caliber Champs/Former Champs than Calzaghe has............who has three victories.

A green young IBF Champ
A relatively obscure dane who dominated a weak division
An Old Man.

It doesn't take away from the fact that Joe Calzaghe is the rightful owner of 2 Ring world championships. im not a calzaghe fan nor a mayweather fan and i will say mayweather has a better resume.

Hopkins is the biggest name on Calzaghe's record and De la Hoya is the biggest name on Mayweather's record.

In addition to that Calzaghe has beaten some big fighters but mayweather has beaten more of them...
