I'm sorry, but this is messed up. Judges are Refs?

    Matthew Hatton vs Craig Watson:

referee: Dave Parris | judge: Mickey Vann 112-116 | judge: Howard John Foster 112-117 | judge: Victor Loughlin 111-118 ~
~ Commonwealth (British Empire) welterweight title ~

    Paulie Malignaggi vs Lovemore Ndou:
referee: Mickey Vann | judge: Phil Edwards 114-115 | judge: Victor Loughlin 116-113 | judge: Dave Parris 116-112 ~
~ IBF light welterweight title ~

Why the **** is this allowed? I realize the ref would be the thrid judge in the old days, but he also was actually doing his job. They should not be scoring fights and also be a ref on the side. If Dave Parris has the judgement that he did for Tszyu vs Hatton I seriously worry about his scoring abilities.

yeah refs are judges. It happens a lot in the U.S just not in Vegas. But in Cali it happens, all the refs are also judges

Yeah I found it strange that Boxing judges also are MMA judges too. Do they even know the advanced techniques in the clinch for and how to score MMA or is it "oh that guy looks like he is in more pain"
