Is Ricky Hatton Past His Prime?

The answer is a resounding YES.

I called it before the Mayweather fight. Hatton is past his prime. Over his last few fights several things have become evident.

    1. His capacity for sustaining a high work-rate has been diminishing.
    2. His ability to absorb punishment has been diminishing.
    3. His hand and foot speed has been noticeably slowing.

His out of control life style has been catching up with him in recent years. He has not looked sharp in quite a few fights and it is only getting worse. Hatton has been past his prime, and he will continue to go down hill.

No, I think he had the energy to keep the pace up the last rounds but simply didn't need to. His trainer told him not to do anything silly. (You'd know this if you watched the fight.)

He threw good amounts of shots at the end rounds.

Worringly he got rocked momentarily and had **** all defense.

No one is saying that he's shot, but he's clearly going down hill and has been for some time.

Compare his work rate tonight with his work-rate 3 years ago.

Compare his chin tonight against his chin against Kostya.

Compare his speed tonight to his speed a few years ago.

Hatton IS past his prime. That is not a disputable question. The only arguable point is how far past his prime he is.

                    Yep he sure is.
His opponent wasn't even that good.
If he steps it up that left hook is going to finish him.
