There were positives and negatives to Hatton's performance.

The negatives were that he left himself very open when he came in, especially with that left hook and doesn't seem to have much defense when he's on the outside. He used to move his head on the outside to slip punches and them come inside, he doesn't seem to have the reflexes to do that anymore.

Some positives were that he reverted a bit to his old style, especially in the first 6 rounds, which was when he was most effective IMO. He threw nice combinations and body shots but then started his mauling tactics again in the latter half of the fight, I don't know if that's because of fatigue or habit.

All around, I thought it was an OK performance for his first fight back from a loss in his biggest fight but some of the things I saw leads me to think that he shouldn't fight on for too long.

I don't want to piss on your parade or anything but Hatton had Lazcano in his back pocket for most of that fight.

Hatton played a game of chess tonight.

          Good, VERY strong fighter.

Hatton had Lazcano hurt a bunch of times, i dont remember the last time i saw Lazcano in trouble, and Harris is a big time puncher.

The Round 10 stuff was bull**** though. British announcers and refs are incredibly biased. I cant wait to hear the British commentary, they were probably rediculous.

And while i gave Lazcano 2 rounds, i dont think a shutout is at all rediculous. I mean the round he got hurt in, he came back and hurt Lazcano. And in round 8 when he was also shook up, he came back and hurt Lazcano twice more so...
You make good points. But I've never seen Hatton so scrambled up on the technical side. He had his hands low when on the inside allowing Lazcano to throw clean combos to the face. Left with his left hook like a chimp monkey chasing another one. Had his gloves at his chest with his chin up and almost no head movement. Now I think he beats Paulie but I think Torres with his left hook can really put him down hard.

Hatton deffinately didnt look great....GREAT? Honestly? Great? Great would have been a first round KO and Lazcanos head landed in the third row. That was far from a GREAT performance. Im very up to par on Lazcano, and hes nothing special by any means. He lost to the worst and most sluggish Harris i ever seen and got a hometown decision against Garnica. Hatton looked mediocre. He got some confidence back and shook off some rust. He didnt put on a great performance by no means man.

Great performance by Hatton IMO. Probably left himself open a bit too much though, a better fighter would have exploited that. On the whole though, he looked good.

Lazcano is one tough **** for last those twelve rounds.

Yeah, hatton looked great if you like seeing your fighter get wobbled from a B class fighter. Oh yeah a B class fighter that hadnt fought in nearly a year and a half.

Winning the majority of the rounds easily doesn't negate anything I said. Just because he was controlling the fight doesn't mean he wasn't hurt or was hurting Lazcano.

If you want to debate with me fine, but don't just comment about air to me.
