    Yeah.

Because that version of Castillo was a way bigger test than Witter.

Everyones an expert after the event. Everyones shot after Hatton beats them. Never mind that Witter is around the same age as Castillo and hasnt fought anywhere near his level.

So yes Castillo was a bigger threat. Ranked as Hattons number 1 contender - cant get a much bigger test than that. He was also ranked in the top 10 P4P Fighters. A list Witter will never get close to.

Please dont use that excuse with Hatton its reserve for Mayweather, Castillo was shot and way past his prime, Hatton only fought one guy in his prime and that was Mayweather...Urango was green at 17-0 while Maussa was .............Maussa enough said.

Can someone explain to me how Junior Wiiter is a threat to Ricky Hatton? Because the few Witter fights that i have seen have shown me nothing to suggest that he would actually beat Hatton?

And don't come back to me suggesting the ''Mayweather blueprint'' because that's like pissing in the wind.

Witter's style is tailor-made to frustrate Hatton and exploit his reckless approach with brutal shots from angles Vicky won't see coming.

Junior worked his way up the slow, hard way. He deserved his shot.

I'm saying deserved, because at this stage I believe there are bigger things for Junior to chase.
Maybe not in terms of paydays, but in terms of meaningful fights and prestige.

Hatton is on the downside and it's likely he will leave what remains of his best in the ring with one of the fighters who currently be ahead of Junior in the line.

If Witter can claim a version of the junior-welter title again, there are some great potential fights out there @ 140 for him.
Hatton is not the be all and end all.

Say what you want about Urango and Maussa but they were both world champions at the time. Witter, Malignaggi and co were not. So why would Hatton fight them instead?

Because Hatton is tailor made for the left hook with his face first style, And this has NOTHING to do with Mayweather. They avoid Witter like the plague because of this reasons, They went and ship over bums after bums for Hatton to feed on before he got his shot at Tsyzu.

They knew Witter was a very dangerous domestic opponent and they knew they had to stir clear of him and they did.

You do realise that Witter is 35 years old and set to fight for the European Title? The guy might as well quit. Hatton would've been the pinnacle of his career - win, lose or draw -and he's arsed that up.

Amazing how Hatton won his last fight and Witter lost embarrassingly yet Hatton's the one on the slide.

Some people will just hype up Witter out of hatred for Hatton.

Hatton is THE MAN @ 140 plain and simple, undefeated at the weight and brings more $$$$$ than ANYONE else at the weight today.

Point well made, people are experts after the event and I agree NO ONE was complaining that Castillo was a shot fighter prior to the fight but it was oneof the 1st things the haters shouted after Hatton became the 1st man to EVER put Castillo down in a professional boxing ring.
He was also the 1st boxer to stop both Ray Oliviera and Mike Stewart if I remember correctly?
