I've always felt you have to earn the p4p #1 spot, not be given it. Floyd hasn't done anything to prove he's any less of a fighter than he's ever been, while Pacquiao in his last fight was lucky to escape w/ a W over JMM.

point is he is fighting Oscar at 150. SO he would rather do that then fight a worthy WW, so he has no choice but to drop it.
Reading comprehension, pal. I'm not talking about now. Obviously nobody cares about ODLH-PBF II much, so of course there are other fights we'd rather see. However, at the time both of those matches were highly, highly anticipated.

And if he would of fought Berto everybody would of said he was Picking on unproven fighters instead fighting real fighters like Hatton....

wow. hey Foolio//HAS HE FOUGHT A MANDO SINCE WINNING IT??

NO, the WBC allowed to figth Hatton and keep it. They would have allowed to fight Cotto and keep it. It would have atleast been at 147.

          YOU KNOW CRAP ABOUT BOXING..

The difference between Pacquiao and Mayweather is that Pacquiao took on one of his biggest threats and regardless of the difficulty, he still won. Mayweather took on an unranked middleweight who was inactive for quite some time and then soundly defeated a ranked Jr Welter, but now he is fighting that unranked fighter again and looks to be rematching the Jr Welter he already defeated.

You don't have to lose to get take off the spot, but you DO have to defend the spot. I feel Floyd is @ number one for now, but if he follows through with someone other than Cotto, Mosley or Margarito after the DLH fight, then he does not deserve to be at the top.

Look at you crying again about how people discredit Mayweather. Why do you think "everybody" does? You did say "everybody" so why is Floyd so disputed by fans, writers and analysts?

Floyd became #1 p4p champ after Bernard Hopkins lost to Taylor. If Hopkins beat Taylor Floyd wouldn't have become p4p champ (at the time).

Floyd hasn't lost a fight however he hasn't fought anyone relevant. Him fighting ODH again, and god forbid Ricky Hatton, is him losing the spot because Pacquiao on the other hand is fighting top p4p guys, and winning, i.e. earning it imo.

My personal opinion (i'm not trying to make a case this is just my opinion) is that someone shouldn't be able to stay at the top w/o fighting top competition. If that were the case Bernard Hopkins should have vacated the belts and fought some past their prime guys and people in different weight classes, then he'd still be p4p champ today.
