mayweather already won a title at 154...

    against oscar...

    pay attention guys...

so the question should be do people think he can win one at 160...

and i will say this; if he fights the right fighter at 160 he'll lose...

i'd like to see cotto v. mayorga at 154...that would be an action packed fight none-the-less...no matter who wins...and to end the arguing i will say this, EACH fighter has enough power to knock the other out. its going to be a matter of who hits who first and the hardest.

Yeah i know, i said he was a 5 division champ.
I think the difference in SKILL would be the difference between Cotto and Mayorga rather than power, i could see Cotto fighting quite disaplined against an animal like Ricardo! Tucked chin and ear muffs on to protect against those Wild swings

What does it matter if Mayweather won a title at 154 if he is trying to create his own legacy? Is Mayweather the first Welterweight to have won a title at 154 or something?

            no...

i was saying that because there were posters who said, "he could win one more title if he moves up to 154"

making it sound like they forgot he even won at title at 154 against oscar.

so for him to make it a 6 division champion he'd have to move up to 160.

he could beat a paper champion at 160...

              but not the division's best.

Hagler only fought at 160 all his life so I think cotto will be the same if he is smart.

my thoughts exactly, Cotto could dominate 147 for a long time

Where is the break off point for having to use 10 oz. gloves, I remember hearing Cotto say he would never fight in 10 oz. gloves. If he feels that way about the size of gloves he can not go much higher and be super effective even if it is just mental, imo.

Under the right situation he can win a belt for sure. I dont think he'd be elite.

I mean Forrest's two title fights have been against guys who Cotto would handle easily.

I feel like 154 is Floyd's limit as far as being a great fighter goes. He'd be able to win a title under the right situation at 160.
