I voted Hamed. One lost to a good opponent and you hang them up...What kind of champion is that???Comment

just about everyone you listed had all the potential to move further up in the sport than they did.
I thought taylor was going to be a fighter to make way more consecutive title defenses than he did...infact i thought he was going to be a force to be reckoned with...but he couldnt get past pavlik...before pavlik came along i thought he'd be able to dominant in the division and once pavlik came along i thought, "if he gets past pavlik, its only easier from there"...but he couldnt get over the hump.
Vargas was a good fighter who couldnt win a fight at the top level...couldnt get past the oscar de la hoya's, the trinidad's, etc.
Zab Judah fits too; he's a fighter who has a ton of ability and could have really given floyd a run for his money (more so than he did) and he could have at least made it out of the cotto fight if he didnt emotionally/mentally wear down and get frustrated. thats the thing about zab; if you frustrate him he basically gives up.
In all fairness he's only lost to good competition in floyd, cotto, baldomir, spinks, and tszyu...
Mike tyson didnt reach his full potential but i wouldnt call it wasted talent; i mean he was the heavyweight champion of the world right? exactly.
I think mike tyson just didnt know how to come back from a loss...and thats what happens to fighters; they're a force until they lose for the first time THEN you have to see how they return from that loss...and tyson didnt take the loss well...he crumbled...and it could also be that buster douglas was the first fighter to, "figure him out"...as teddy atlas said (and i agree), "tyson's flaw was resistance"...from what i've seen that is 100% true.
Tyson was a force until you stood your ground and didnt crumble...then you can wear HIM down.Comment

I think he would have been one of the truely special ones!
The ref did Benn alot of favours in that fight G man COULD have got the KO under a different ref, that win wouldnt have hurt him legacy wise eitherComment

The question needs to be more clear...In terms of "wasted potential" Zab Judah is the top. Keep in mind that in terms of talent he could have beaten all the guys he lost to. He was leading Mayweather on my card up until around 8, then he messed up, he was still in the fight even after the brawl. I think Naseem hamed is a close second, followed by Mike Tyson. Iron Mike was never the same type of fighter after Buster Douglas knocked him out at age 23. Nobody what anybody thinks. Mike was done after that fight.Comment
