But it is not ok for Floyd to make Cotto meet all his stipulations and standards... before the Floyd vs. Cotto fight can happen..!!

But here is the common factor in any those situations,
1. the fight eventually happen

The most ridiculous aspect of this thread is that the standards Horus has set for Cotto weren't even met by Hatton, Baldomir, Brussels, Mitchell and even De La Hoya because even though it was a GOOD win for Floyd, De La Hoya is no longer "great" at this stage of his career. He wasn't even ranked in the top 10 when Floyd fought him nor is he the best of his own division. Horus is a joke.

You are refusing to acknowlege that the career of Floyd Mayweather Jr. has moved into a phase of complete autonomy since Bruseles, Mitchell and Baldomir. Those fighters were jr. welterweight and welterweight stepping stones to the elite paydays after burning through 2 weight classes already. De La Hoya was a very stern test for a fighter in his 5th successive weight class, and also put Floyd into the elite commercial bracket. Hatton very much met the commercial standards required for Floyd to fight at this post-De La Hoya stage in his career.

Now, the question is -- can Cotto meet those standards?

Floyd owes Cotto nothing. If Miguel really wants it, he has to earn it, starting with Antonio Margarito.

They weren't in the same division that whole time. Besides, you wanted them to fight because it would make Floyd a lot of money, not because it'd be an entertaining match-up. That's why people like you are Floyd fans, not boxing fans; you'd rather see Mayweather make money than fight the best.
