Both Ouma and Spinks were the sacrificial lambs for Taylor's career after his bleak fights with Hopkins, but instead of slaughtering, he barely cut them and one of them even gave him a decent whiping in the process.

It really has nothing to do with Joe.
It didn't remotely go over my head, as there was nothing to try to get past me. You can claim them to be too small for Taylor, but commenting on their punching power is irrelevant. You can claim them to be weak opposition, but again, calling them weak punchers is irrelevant.

        Try again.

          Out of current fighters...

Floyd Mayweather- I dont like his fake act, his playing to the wanna be thug crowd, or that he wont fight a prime fighter his own weight. Him doing WWF, rapping, and all that other ****, besides calling himself the "goat" didnt help.

David Haye- Runs his mouth, hads never done anything, idiotic fans with man crushes on him.

Cotto- Looks like a metro, has ZERO personality, chooses a fight with Alfonso Gomez to start acting ****y. Some of his fans suck and are loud.

Margarito- Loses to Williams who cant kill a fly with his best punch, gets outclassed badly by a healthy Clottey, yet beats someone he beat before and is claimed as the baddest dude on the planet. He is wayyyyyyyyyyy over rated, and his fans dont like logic. He could lose his next 30 fights and they would claim everyone is ducking him.

Sam Peter- He is going to kill someone with his back of the neck punching. He makes boxing look like a toughman contest.

Juan Diaz- Cant stand him, he throws the whole time but they are close smothering shots that arent exciting. I also didnt like his mom screaming about how great he is every time he wins when they interview him.

Paulie Malignagi- My least favorite fighter ever. Boring to watch, total metro, runs his mouth, has no power, has annoying fans.

There's a reason nobody outside of Wales gave a flying **** about Calzaghe. The division was horrible and there was nothing worth talking about as he wasn't fighting big fights and wasn't even unifying. This isn't really even debatable.

To add to the argument, I have to say that Jermain Taylor was not all hype. He ended Hopkins long reign and beat him twice. Whether it was close doesn't matter. It's not like Calzaghe beat Hopkins convincingly, and he was 43. He was undisputed middleweight champion for 2 years and had one of the more impressive championship resumes in recent memory. He fought the best. He lost to Pavlik, and fought him harder in the rematch. Taylor does not deserve to be criticized. He fights the fights people want to see, fights his ass off, and is a class act.

yeah but it is sufficient to hype up Jeff Lacy who has even less credentials

American fans are the biggest homers ever

we need an American HW ,we dont care about the HW division all the fighters are **** LOL

Lacy received hype because of the manner in which he won. Fighters w/ a big punch and a solid record of knockouts will always get a lot of hype. He was obviously overhyped, but being American had a lot less to do w/ it than being a fairly exciting puncher with a big punch.

Lacy recieved hype because of his nationality & because American fans are oblivious to the credentials of fighters who dont fight on U.S soil
