Miguel Cotto Haters - Debunked...

The simple truth is that Cotto is a more like able "figure". He is easier to accept and be a fan of than Floyd. The more extreme and devoted Floyd fans aren't content with that and there for nit pick at Cotto's persona and career. Aside from his glove's run ins with other fighter's private areas, there isn't much to dislike.

He doesn't disrespect his opponents.
He has a fan friendly style.
He works hard.
He is a devouted family man.

Now, if any serious person who calls themself a "boxing fan" says they dislike Cotto because he does not want to behave outside of himself like Mayorga or Mayweather, then they should re-evaluate what the definition of "boxing fan" is. More than likely, a person such as this regularly watches MTV and BET and has school tomorrow at 8:30 am tomorrow.

Cotto's got his flaws but so does every other fighter. As long as he keeps winnin it don't mean ****. On the subject of potential fights with Margarito or Floyd, both those guys have different styles than any of his other opponents so what happened against his past opponents isn't the be all end all of what would happen against them. He is vulnerable to big punchers and Tony has good pop, but that's about it. For now, Cotto's still unbeaten so no matter what all he does wrong he's obviously doin a lotta **** right too.
