Who has Katsidis fought? A 36yr old Casamayor who knocked him the hell out, thats who. Khan would stop Katsidis before the 6th.

Anyway, British boxing is looking pretty good. We have fighters in all the weight classes at the olympics, and until recently we had 7 world champions.

Also, our fighters compete frequently outside Britian, but when we have such a great domestic scene, it makes more sense to fight at home. Australian fighters are only seen fighting in other country's because they dont want to fight in restaurants and sport centres at home.

Still, what has Austrailia acheived anyway? Mundine and Katsidis are hardly the cream of the crop, are they? One got beat by Ottke and Kessler, and the other got beat by a boxing pensioner.

You need to look at at your own scene before you start questioning others.

well australia has a popualtion about half the size of britains and we had 5 or 6 world champs until katsidis got KO'd (no matter how ridiculous the world title he owned was),

mundine was in his tenth fight when ottke knocked him out, but yes he does have a bad chin.

kostya tszyu was the best junior welterweight of all time and hes an aussie (born in russia but an aussie citizen and he calls himself an aussie) who does britain have? a fat overrated hatton who could only beat tszyu when he was 36 and washed up! tszyu in his prime would have killed hatton no doubt.

a heavily protected calzaghe who happened to pick a very convienient time to "step up" ? a overrated upstart in khan?

We can't judge until he steps up and fights a good opponent. With the right training and if he's not rushed, he could be a force in the lightweight and Jr welterweight division.

I don't think Tszyu is the best at 140 of all time. He's a very good fighter though.

Calzaghe was supposed to fight Johnson a few years back before he got injured and he stepped up and fought a still dangerous Hopkins.

Hatton is overrated by some but he is also a good, solid fighter, although I would really like to see him revert to his old pre-Tszyu style.

this is a complete lie all the Brits i speak to on this site agree he is not ready so i dont understand this thread maybe it is just hate eh

i personally have said numerous times that Khan is 'nt ready & Nate Campbell would beat him easily at the moment

Amir Khan is an absolutely terrific prospect, along with Gamboa, the best in the world today. His handspeed and athleticism alone are physical gifts that really don't come along all that often, and which virtually every pro fighter active today would kill to have. Raw talent-wise he must be in the top fraction of a percentile in boxing.

That is not to say that Khan will definitely make the grade, all he has at the moment is potential. If he doesn't develop an offensive technique that utilises those gifts or he turns out to be a really poor defensive fighter, then his pro career might not work out the way he hopes. His natural talent just gives him a better jumping off point than most, thats all.

Khan is one of the best young prospects in world boxing today. You only have to watch some of his fights to release the potential that he has.

He's 21 and learning, give him time.
