thats the thing. he was trying to do all those things but couldnt. floyd said he was going to do what oscar said he was going to do but didnt fight that way. to me, the fight wasnt BAD. it was actually a solid fight. something id like to see for free on HBO you know what i mean? but imagine going back to work in a place full of Kimbo stans and UFC maniacs the following Monday?

What was Floyd's first PPV at what fight(#) and what was Cotto's first PPV.

Floyd vs Hatton and Floyd vs Oscar sold the way they did because of their Fan base (OScar and Hatton Of course)

And if any you wanted to see a Super PPV event it would have been Hatton vs Oscar before their fight with Floyd (you know since they lose to him)

That **** would have sold so much PPV's that to break it you would have to put Britney vs Hilton in a ring fighting in things.
WOW YOU OBVIOUSLY DONT KNOW WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT. FLOYD VS BALDIMORE DID MORE THEN COTTO VS MOSLEY COME ON DUDE. DONT COME INTO ARGUMENTS MAKING UP **** TRYING TO PROVE A POINT. IT'S OBVIOUS YOU DON'T KNOW TOO MUCH SO JUST KEEP IT AT THAT INSTEAD SAYING STUFF LIKE YOU JUST DID AND MAKING YOURSELF LOOK ******ED. I WILL NO LONGER RESPOND TO ANY OF YOUR POSTS.

Floyd vs Baldomir - Baldomir's first and only PPV. His biggest payday to date. Baldomir against Gatti ( you know Gatti, the guy that Floyd did a PPV with because he is such a PPV attraction) was on free HBO.

Floyd vs Oscar - 2.5 million PPV buys....a new record. Did more then Oscar-Mosley, Oscar-Trinidad, Oscar-Mayorga, Oscar-(insert here).

LOL oh come you know that Judah was already and establish name.
Gatti would have step up in the ring alone and it would been PPV.

HEy Floyd is a great Talent but I don't give credit for the number his fight's made because of him alone. VS OScar and Hatton he helped to sell for about 5% of the PPV buys for each fight.

why were the fans booing and leaving the baldomir fight? thats proof of how boring the fight was isnt it? how do you think that reflected on the people watching at home? merchant's blatant dismissal of his performance didnt help either.
Larry Merchant gave The World Awaits a 8.5 out of 10 rating in terms of how the fight was.

Floyd vs. No Name Fighter with no U.S exposure (T.V):

                    Floyd vs.Carlos Baldomir 325,000 buys = 16.3 Million

"We're very pleased with Mayweather's PPV performance, especially given that Baldomir had little previous exposure in the US," HBO PPV's Mark Taffet said.

Baldomir's only previous U.S. exposure came in his January upset of Judah to win the welterweight title and his July knockout of Gatti in his first defense.

"These numbers are very reflective of the numbers generated by Oscar when he did not have the well-known name challenger in the other corner, which obviously speaks volumes of Floyd's star power," Goossen said.

Oscar vs. No Names with No U.S Exposure (T.V):

                    M.A. Gonzalez(1/97) 345,000 buys = $12.1 million
6 fights in the United States before the fight...

                    Felix Sturm (6/04) 380,000 buys = $19.0 million
This is after Oscar already had 3 Mega Fights over 925,000 P.P.V buys...
                    Trinidad, Fernando Vargas, Shane Mosley
This also after Oscar already had 4 fights of P.P.V over 550,000 P.P.V buys
Hector Camacho, Ike Quartey, J.C Chavez II, Shane Mosley,

So how do you do only 380,000 after all of that exposure in MEGA FIGHTS...?
And this is Oscar De La Hoya..... So that shows you how much ExposURe in the United States Affect P.P.V sales...

Floyd fighting a Nobody(Baldomir) is almost the equivalent to and better than

Shane Mosley vs. Fernando Vargas II 350,000 buys
Shane Mosley vs. Miguel Cotto 340,000 buys
Bernard Hopkins vs. Antonio Tarver 330,000 Buys
Bernard Hopkins vs. Winky Wright 305,000 Buys
Roy Jones Jr vs. Tarver I 302,000 PPV
Miguel Cotto vs. zab Judah 225,000 PPV
Miguel Cotto vs. Paulie Magg. 100,000 PPV buys

So please do put Mayweather into perspective....Before you diss..
Because when you look at the situtions and circumstances...

Oscar had the same kind of numbers vs. a fighter Like Baldomir with little previous exposure in the US...

Oscar vs. Felix Sturm (6/04) 380,000 buys
and that was after 3 mega superfights.....

So when you are trying look Floyd Numbers as a joke.....

The Question is Who Could of Had better P.P.V with Baldomir then Floyd did...???

I wont even argue the Judah PPV because You get Smoke....

                      5%?

Delahoya/Trinidad 1999 - Two prime undefeated fighters both with big national followings form Puerto Rico and Mexico. Did 1.5 million buys.

                      Tyson/Lewis - 1.9million.

                      Delahoya/Mayweather - 2.5 million. Is a million more ppv buys 5%.?
