Cotto can, lol It's more then evident that Cotto can hurt you where ever he punches you. Arms, body, and face. Floyd isn't granite, I mean with his choice of opposition he looks unstoppable but look at his resume compared to the Oscar's, Mosleys, Trinidads, and Whitakers. Not one risky fight, it's not really a surprise he's undefeated.

Now I'd still say Floyd is the favorite in a Cotto fight, but Miguel is more then capable of eating that shoulder D alive. Only way Mayweather gets by Cotto, is if he's going backwards from the sound of the first bell. I'm talkin Floyd goin into complete retreat and touchin Cotto up to a decision.

But if Cotto loses to Tony in a crazy fashion, I think Mayweather is even more of a favorite.

Trinidad ran into Hopkins, and his mentality was quit. Retire. If Cotto gets smashed, even though he has the goods to put a hurtin on Floyd, mentally he'll probably only be half of himself.

Didn't Zab Judah techniquely knock Floyd down with a right hook? I know floyd was not hurt but nevertheless. Also Judah did catch him with a big backhand that made floyd cover up but he did well to block and smother the flowwing punches from Judah. I don't think Cotto would knock even though he has the power to. Floyd's chin is pretty untetsted really so it would be interesting to see Cotto land some clean heavy shots on him.... if the fight ever happens.

His power would seem capable, although Floyd has shown a good chin/body.

The defense issue would keep Floyd from getting KO'd IMO.

So to answer your question, Cotto CAN KO Floyd, but likely WON'T.

I'm with you on this one DWiens. Can Cotto KO Floyd, yeah his power dictates that he has that ability. However, I doubt it would happen. Even if Cotto was very succesful and hurt PBF.........PBF has enough defensive ability to go into a defensive mode that can allow him to survive even when hurt.

yes; cotto CAN stop floyd but the probablity that floyd's defense would be so poor (or that cotto could exploit it ENOUGH to actually knock floyd out) is highly unlikely...but possible of course...cotto has that type of strentgh in his punches.

in all likelihood i dont think he knocks him out but the force of his shots make it a possiblity.
