ROBERT MORALES: Hey, Bob, what makes you say – we all know all the fighters you’ve been involved in, all the fighters you’ve seen, what makes you say that Floyd is the best fighter you’ve seen in 40 years other than the young Muhammad Ali?

BOB ARUM: Well, you know, there are a number of aspects that make a great fighter. One is speed. His speed is phenomenal. The way he throws punches, phenomenal. The way he is conditioned, phenomenal. I mean, he’s the entire whole package. And beside all of those skills, he is the – again, put Ali aside – and I was just those couple of years with Ali were, I mean, maybe because my eyes were younger then, but put Ali aside, other than Ali, he’s the most intelligent fighter that I have ever seen. I mean, Floyd, this is no bull****; Floyd can see a punch coming before the other guy knows he’s going to throw it. Do you understand that? I mean, I have never seen such ring intelligence that Floyd demonstrates.

And so he’s the whole package, and you know, Ray Leonard was a great fighter, Marvin Hagler was a great fighter, Duran certainly was great, Oscar had a couple of years where he was very good, but there’s nobody that is a whole package like Floyd.

Arum when Floyd is NOT paying him:

He also accused Floyd of being a joke, adding: “It’s all about money. It’s all about avoiding anybody who can give him a contest. He and De La Hoya are going to fight again…like anyone cares. He isn’t concerned at all for his legacy, but Cotto and Margarito are!

“I did most of Mayweather’s fights when he was coming up, and I know his mentality. Mayweather is a coward. Not a physical coward, because no one who goes in the ring is a physical coward. He’s a psychological coward. He cannot cope with the possibility of losing. I know that. We dealt with him over the years. Even though we presented opponents to him we figured to beat, he wouldn’t fight them because there was a chance that he could lose.”
good **** homie! this is green worth, bless!

Dubbed “The Battle” by Top Rank Cotto’s WBA weight crown is on the line, while Margarito is vacating his IBF belt to go after this much anticipated barnstormer.

In Mexico City’s Camino Real Hotel, dressed to the nines in a charcoal gray suit with a pink tie and a paler pink shirt, Cotto looked more like a stock broker or bank manager than his business hours wrecking machine mantle.

He politely applauded Margarito when he spoke, but when it was his turn, he insisted he will return to Puerto Rico post fight undefeated.

Miguel said: “It’s going to be an exciting and really tough fight for both of us. I think the guy who comes to it in the best shape and who trusts in himself better will win…and this guy is Miguel Cotto.

“I’m going to take advantage of the mistakes he’s going to make during the fight. I’m going to do all the things I have to do to win this fight. I’m going for it round for round, and if I hit him pretty good, then I’m going for him. I’m one hundred percent confident in myself.

Antonio Margarito who was more casually attired in blue jeans and a white short sleeved shirt pledged he’ll emerge from this fight with his hands held high in victory. He said he’s going to use his height and reach advantage to good effect and dedicate the fight to Mexico.

He’s confirmed he’s already doing light training in Tijuana and on May 26th he’ll go to Los Angeles for two months of hard slog, for hard slug.

And he warned: “If Cotto is coming for a collision he’s going to be in problems and I’ll knock him out. I’m stronger than Miguel Cotto. The fight will be easy with good training
          preparation.”
          [details]
There's not going to be any knock outs... Cotto will outbox Margarito... something like 8 rounds to 4.

I've said all along either guy can win it but if anybody gets hurt and/or KTFO it's gonna be Cotto.

there is no contradiction there. Floyd started ducking so Bobs view of him changed. Pretty simple.

Margarito said he'll use his reach. I have a feeling he will box a little bit in the early rounds and he's going to look very bad early if he survives then he'll start to look better but anyway Cotto by UD. Margarito is a slow starter.

Well I know that Mosley was bigger and had more reach than Cotto, but MC still looked impressive. I think it will be similar, only Cotto will use a little more head movement, and keep Margarito honest by catching him when he comes in with some wide shots.

It will be a long haul for Miguel, as Antonio can throw and throw and throw until the cows come home. Cotto by UD.

Edit: Even though I'm no racist, "BEAN EATER" has to be one of the funniest comments of all time. I can't stop laughing. I have nothing against Mexicans whatsoever, and I would never classify them as such, but that two-word phrase would be funny tagged on anyone.
