Well you gotta realize, they were deep in negotiations with Abraham and were most likely not sure if Abraham would actually sign to fight over here.
Yeah they kept Kessler's camp as a fall back, which was not right, but they just really wanted to land a fight. It was morally wrong, but you can see the reasoning when you consider they were dealing with two potentially hesitant camps when it came to actually fighting over here.
I think it all comes down to Palle being difficult to deal with. Kessler should really dump that guy. He has Kessler's career stalled big time.Comment

I am just excited for Abraham and Miranda. They are fighting this fight just for the heck of it. Neither will gain much by winning and both have much to lose.
Pure old fashioned grudge fight. You cannot question the integrity of either guy.Comment

Have you lost your mind?
Palle left the table without even a phone call after all ready agreeing verbally to the fight on Showtime. Weeks later we found out why (the bull**** with Mudine). During that time Sauerland and Warriors began talking about a rematch and well before Palle came running back was a deal as good as done to make Miranda Abraham II.
Why the **** would Warriors at that time screw over Sauerland and run back to make Palle happy? Sorry buddy, but Palle was the ******* here. Unlike Palle, Warriors did everything in good faith and are respectable business people, hard to find in boxing today.Comment

I cannot really argue about Palle being a ****up. He is. And he ****ed it up big time first time around.Have you lost your mind?

The timing of who did what when the second time around we may never know. Palle said that they even agreed fighting in Florida and that Miranda backed out because he'd rather fight Abraham.
To be completely honest with you I think you got it more right than Palle. And I think you know that.Comment

And just for the record Palle's view is found in this post from a thread I made a while ago:
"It was announced Wednesday afternoon in Copenhagen by manager Bettina Palle and matchmaker Mogens Palle that former WBA and WBC super middleweight champion Mikkel Kessler will return to the ring on June 21 in Denmark to fight undefeated Dmitri Sartison for the WBA title.
Kessler, 39-1, will be making his first start since losing a hard fought decision to unbeaten Joe Calzaghe Nov. 4. Sartison, who comes from Kazahkstan, fights out of Germany and is promoted by Universum.
Kessler's interests twice tried to make a USA TV bout against Edison Miranda and twice Miranda's promoter ran away from the deals. Miranda decided he would be better off fighting King Arthur Abraham on June 21 on Showtime as opposed to possibly getting destroyed by the Viking Warrior.
When HBO wanted Kessler-Miranda for June 21, Kessler even agreed to fight at the Hard Rock in Hollywood, Fl., home of Miranda's promoter, Seminole Warriors Boxing.
Again, Leon Margules tucked his tail between his legs and ran from Kessler.
Current WBA champ Anthony Mundine, already beaten once in his homeland by Kessler, refused to fight official challenger Kessler and thus Kessler now fights the leading available contender for the vacant crown.
Mundine has a totally ridiculous third bout against overmatched middleweight Sam Soliman in Melbourne on May 28. If Mundine wins or gets a draw, he has committed to immediately resigning the title. If Soliman wins, obviously the Kessler-Sartison winner will be obligated to give him a fight.
Mundine is already to trying to lure ex-WBA light heavyweight champion Danny Green out of retirement for what would be a huge all Australian rematch."Comment

Yes, Miranda is a tough son of a *****! Pavlik had an amazing performance that night and I think Miranda might have overlooked/underestimated Pavlik. Big mistake. I do believe that he was drained as well. You can't take anything away from Pavlik though!
I remember before the fight when Pavlik entered the ring thinking, Oh ****, Pavlik is going to get destroyed. That thought was erased after the first round. I was shocked at how Pavlik just stuck to his game plan and made Miranda fight going backwards.
Pavlik was the better man that night. When Pavlik moves up to SMW assuming that they both continue to be successful, a rematch in a couple years might be of intrigue.Comment
