cotto was very tired in the late rounds against mosley. margarito never gets tired. he gets more energy the longer the fight lasts. if cotto tries to run and take a break margarito will hunt him down like the dog that he is and knock him out.

having said that, when has miguel cotto "worn" down in fights? last i checked, he can brawl, as well as box if he has to. cotto has the heart of a lion, and in my opinion, is the bigger puncher of the two, judging by the fact he has just as many ko's as marg, in 10 less fights...........

i mean, anything can happen, and margarito is a good fighter, but lets not look at his wins against kermit cintron, and think thats the fight thats gonna happen with cotto.

and lets not get it twisted, this is not the biggest fight of cotto's career, unless you are judging a fight with mayweather as make or break. lose, there will b a rematch, win he still may not get mayweather. this is a much bigger fight for margarito b/c if he loses, that will be his fifth loss, he can kiss a fight with mayweather good bye forever, and he will be known as a boxer who cant win the biggest fights against the best opposition, but he can beat up on b-grade fighters like kermit cintron. this is a must win for marg, if he ever wants those $$$.

Good post, I want this on the record, If Cotto wins, I really don't see a re-match and if he loses, I think Arum will make sure theres a rematch and I would agree with the decision. Cotto is undefeated and Marga has 4 or 5 loses.

No one is going to walk through Cotto

Reminds me of Hearns vs. Hagler.. Hearns was a tall and dangerous puncher with a height and reach advantage. Everyone thought Hagler had met his match and that the size advantages would be too much. All that happened was it made the fight end faster. Margarito is a threat but its not like Cotto wont be landing vicious blows himself. No one is going to walk through Cotto.

You clearly havent seen Cotto fight often. Let me tell you, there is no way plan A can fail. Cotto has never i repeat ever fought going back. If he is a class act as you nuthugers claim he is, he can do it and you have nothing to worry about. lol

Not the smartest guy in the world, are ya? You just proved his point. If Cotto has never fought going back, then what makes you think Marga's plan to constantly come forward is going to work?

The Cotto that fought Torres, was killing himself to make 140 lbs..
The Cotto you see now, is at 147 and is a mother ****en monster
                at this weight.

Another thing, another thing is most Puerto Rican fighters don't talk much, ala Mexican fighters.

I just don't get it, after years, I mean years of fighting Mexicanz, they still don't understand, talking **** don't affect Puerto Rican fighters.

                Ray Lavato
                Alphonso Gomez
                Fernado Vargass
                Tony Margarito

The only fighter that I can remember neva talked **** was Julio Cesar Chavez.
Felix Trinidad never talked ****, LMAO!!!

Wilfredo Gomez????????????? Edwin Rosario????????? Hecoter Camacho???????????? Hector Camacho Jr. ?????????????????

You don't know who talks **** and who doesn't cause all those opponets are only those of Trinidad and Cotto, puerto rican fighters is all you follow buddy! So you don't know ****!

If the goal is to increase viewership with PPV buys then Margarito is heading in the right direction. He understands that a golden opportunity to shine, sowhy not toss around the rhetoric that avid fan seems to indulge. Nothing wrong with a little verbal tirade to add spark to a highly anticipated bout.

I've not seen many Hagler fights. But the ones i've seen in this look back of fighters of yester year just by the way they fights. Margarito is Hagler and Cotto is Hearns.

like it or not, every fight from here on out is a MUST WIN for marg (unless he can string a few big wins in big fights together), if he wants any opportunity to become a "name" in the WW division. Cotto is undefeated, and he will be just about guaranteed a chance to redeem himself if he loses. don't get me wrong this is a HUGE fight for both guys, but margarito is definitely feeling the pressure more. he alomst didn't get this fight, after he passed on it the first time and then lost to PW. his margin of error is ZERO at this point..........
