i used to think that way too, not in terms of lennox being a coward and all that, i dont believe in that, i just felt at the time that there was no definitive ending to the fight. vitali was ahead on the cards but got cut.
however, vitali coming into the fight had every advantage to prove himself. lennox was inactive for the whole year after beating tyson. he'd been training for a smaller kirk johnson, a fighter totally opposite to vitali's awkward style. even with all that vitali still couldnt beat len on his worst night. it doesnt matter who was ahead, or who was behind, what matters is that at the end of the night the winner was announced and lewis' hand was raised
there's a good possibility that vitali would have beaten him in the rematch yes. but i dont think people should call lennox a coward for realizing that. len's time was over, and klitchko was entering his prime. he had his chance and he fell short.
