Man,he hardly connected, for a fighter who keeps his hands low,and uses his feet to dodge punches,Gamboa made Jiminez miss ALOT of shotsComment

Watching the fight back in Slowmo, most of the "clean" shots that I thought Jiminez landed turned out to be not so clean, nor flush.
I counted about 1 flush shot per round. In the first round where I initially thought Jiminiez landed 3 monster left hooks on the chin. Gamboa blocked the first 2 with his shoulder and they glanced off.
The same thing happened with most of the other punches. The punch ends up barely touching Gamboa, who pulls back to the very end of the punch, or it ends up as a glancing blow that gets deflected by a shoulder.
Gamboa is deceptively good at deflecting blows with his shoulders, turning his head enough that even though it looks like the punch might have landed flush, it goes sailing by, and taking the steam off punches that do land.Comment
