Margarito was born in California, so what.

Cotto was raised in Puerto Rico his entire life and still lives there. Margarito was raised in Mexico his whole life and still lives there.

It is Puerto Rico VS Mexico.
Margarito doesn't live in Mexico anymore.

            He would have represented American.

Now, i think similarities are with Roberto Duran. Duran had a Mexican dad, Panamanian mom. But he lived in Panama represented Panama so he is Panamas son.

Margarito was born in the USA but his parents took him back to Mexico fought young in Mexico, is considered a Mexican fighter so I'd say he represents Mexico.
How could Tony have represented Mexico even though he was born in the USA? I think there is a thing called dou citizenship given to Americans who would much rather live in another country. I am not too familiar with these laws or policies but it's something along those lines. You don't have to be born in a certian country to represent that country in the olympics. Don't ask me why, I am not on the olympic committee.

This is because you still young.

Take a look at Leo Manzano for example.

Can you represent Mexico for the Olympics?
Yeah, but I've already made my decision to represent the United States. People say, “Why don't you run for Mexico?” And I definitely don't forget where I came from, I was born there, but I've lived here most of my life. I wouldn't have had the opportunities to run that I have now if it weren't for the United States and hopefully I get to run for them.

Tony can do the same thing. Tony could have represented Mexico or the United States.

Don't ever say I never taught you anything.

I thought Lennox was born in Jamaica?
