    Will Margarito Feel The Pressure?

If I'm not mistaked Margarito seemed to be suffering from a slight case of nerves in the opening moments as the undercard feature last month. The first power punch or two he threw was in slow motion. It seemed like a nervous guy was throwing them. He's a killer - when he loosens up.

Cotto has been on the big stage already several times, and absolutely thrived under the bright lights. He's gameday.

Margarito and his family have publicly expressed pain in the past at what they have considered a lack of respect for Antonio as a fighter. This is a very big deal to them.. Margarito's eyes must big as saucers when he's looking at this thing. He will be on the big stage for the first time ever in his career. He's headlining at the MGM Grand in Vegas. It doesn't get any bigger.

If you look at alot of Margarito's fights there are traces of potential freezing/nervousness early on. Not because of the opponents, because of the spotlight. Margarito has been known for needing to "warm up" but what does that really mean? Is he a bundle of nerves? Will this cost him against a moment grabber like Cotto?

I don't think the pressure will get to Marg. He may not have been on as big a stage as Cotto thus far but he will be so fired up for this one that everything else will be secondary.

Maybe he will for the first round, but I don't think he'll be affected by the moment.

Margarito has nothing to lose. He knows what it is like to lose. He choked against Bean Pole Williams. If Tony does not beat Miguel on the 26th., it wont be the end for Tony, he can always go after Quintana and then maybe grab that belt and then Williams will come back and take Tony's belt lol Cintron will have a trinket by then and Tony can once again take Cintron's belt, then Tony can fight Cotto again and Tony will be beltless once more. Wash, rinse, repeat.

Excuses? Being 1000% sure doesn't require an excuse, De******o.

Cotto is a unique type of athlete who performs at his best during the Super Bowl. Margarito may be a hit or miss type performer on the big stage. But my 1000% says that the worst possible version of Margarito still wins.

I'm not the only one here though. My threads are for the purpose of others exploring their own views and not nescessarily sharing mine. The reason I post here is to absorb and appreciate different points of view.

              I respect that Addison.

Just like I respect this: On Cotto vs. Gomez, Addison went with Gomez

Tony's got no reason to get caught up in the moment cuz he has no reason to fear Cotto. If anything, he senses how important this fight is and the moment will spur him on to produce as vicious and effort as he can muster. Cotto's had more big fights but I believe Tony is hungrier. He's been on the outside lookin in for a long ass time and now he's got the chance to get his shine on. I don't see Marg freezin up. He let Cintron have a decent 1st rd, but after that it was all over. The harder he got hit the harder he threw back. In this fight I think the pressure, figuratively and literally, is actually on Cotto just as much if not more.

But that has been like rocket fuel for Cotto. That's his juice.
