Right. If he isn't then he's the biggest threat, Calzaghe is way better than Tarver and Pavlik, but not way better than a decent Jones. I do think Jones is shot though, but am prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt.

I am no Jones fan, in fact one of the biggest Calzaghe fans on here, I pick him to beat a prime Jones even, just not easily.

I don't know if you misunderstood me or what, or I misunderstood you, or both, but either way, no hard feelings eh?

Jones is clearly shot. What has he done since his three losses in a row to change that? It will take more than beating a bloated and washed-up Trinidad to convince me that Roy has anything left.

Look man, I'm not one of these idiot black and white posters OK? I do pick prime Calzaghe to beat prime Roy, but I'd be a loon if I thought such a thing was certain wouldn't I?

Likewise, Calzaghe isn't prime anymore and no-one really knows what Roy does or doesn't have left. I think he's shot but I don't know for sure, and if he isn't the chance to beat Calzaghe is there.

Just so you know, I consider Roy to be the most naturally talented fighter during my adult life. He was amazing. Just that he has proven a little susceptible to KO and after Jones, Calzaghe is the next most talented SMW of the era. It's just I don't see Calzaghe as having any glaring weakness so I think he might very well KO Roy. It's not unreasonable is it?

I agree Roy is shot, but he was VERY good so I try not to anger his fans by dissing him too much. He MIGHT conceivably have something left.

both pavlik and jones will give him trouble...

however currently pavlik gives him more trouble (with jones already past his prime)...

so pavlik v. calzaghe would be a close fight...a tough fight at that...

a PRIME roy jones jr would BEAT calzaghe...but currently i cant see that happening...he'd make it competitive but pavlik has a better chance.

I really think Tarver, although i seem to be the only person to think so, I think none of the above would really to be a fight to worry about.

no, everyones entitled to their opinion... it just seemed a little backwards to think joe could beat roy in his prime... but this roy might have a chance at beating him... if anything it would seem more normal to say in their primes roy would handle joe, but not this roy.... but i guess everyone sees **** differently.. i certainly dont have a problem with it, was just curious.

Glen Johnson and Joe Calzaghe are very similar fighters. They both apply a ton of pressure and force the fight. I see no reason why the outcome of a Joe/Roy fight would be any different than what happened with Roy and Glen.
