Holy Hectic Schedule Batman! Look At Pacquiaos Next Few Weeks - OUCH

Once a week every Wednesday – a non-sparring day for Manny Pacquiao – the Filipino fireball will either have to hop on a chartered plane or step inside an executive van as part of the promotional campaign tour needed for his June 28 showdown with David Diaz.

The city tours will kick off this Wednesday as Pacquiao travels to Diaz’s hometown of Chicago for a press conference and pep rally, according to Bill Caplan of Top Rank.

"Manny flies a private charter at 6 p.m., May 20 for Chicago," Caplan said. "The flight will arrive at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday and the following day, Manny and David and Bob Arum will be featured in a press conference at 10:30 a.m. at Lalo’s Mexican Restaurant. At 12, they will all appear at an open to the public pep rally, outdoors at Federal Plaza in downtown Chicago."

Another gig has been penciled for the following Wednesday (May 28) as "Manny will depart Burbank Airport at 9 a.m. for San Francisco on another private charter.

Diaz will also be in the Bay Area and is even scheduled to train at the Titanium Training Center at 11 a.m.
At 12 noon, it will be Manny’s turn to sweat it out and a full-blown press conference follows two blocks down at the Holy Grail Irish Pub and Restaurant.

It was also at the same high-end facility where Pacquiao worked out as part of the promotional tour for the Juan Manuel Marquez rematch last March, and as in the past, Filipino followers of Pacquiao are expected to come up in large numbers.

Pacquiao takes a break in the next two weeks but will be back on the road once again on the morning of June 11 when a van brings him to San Diego "where he will meet and greet 2,000 employees of Cox Cable Communications and some media" and at around 3 p.m., Pacquiao will be driven back to Los Angeles.

An open workout in a place called Little Philippines in Los Angeles is also being worked on by Top Rank in the last two weeks before the fight at Mandalay Bay although on June 23, just before leaving for Las Vegas, Arum will preside over a press conference with Diaz also in attendance.

Pacquiao, who will attempt to dethrone Diaz as World Boxing Council lightweight king, arrived in Los Angeles only last Monday.
